Lee Allan Smith Gets A Big Thank You From The McCain Brothers For Putting Them Together In 1981

Ben McCain joined KTVY NBC Channel 4 in 1980 as an agricultural reporter and morning show market man for WKY radio. Butch joined the weather department in 1981. Lee Allan Smith, Bill Thrash and Steve Antoniotti put the McCain Brothers together to host an early morning show in August of 1981. At the 75th anniversary of KTVY (June 6, 2024), the boys from Bovina got to thank Mr. Smith.
The McCain Brothers hosted an early morning TV show in OKC from 1981 to 1994 before leaving for Hollywood to work in movies, episodic TV and commercials. At one time the McCain Brothers hosted 4 shows on KOCO-TV Channel seven days a week. The Chartbusters show and Hot Country Hits were taped during the week and aired on Saturday and Sunday.
