  • All you need to know about FOGO Charcoal. Different types of charcoals and their usage.
We are constantly asked "what are the differences in FOGO’s different bags of charcoal?" It is the number one question that we get asked so we figured that we would break it down for you. In this video, we go through each of our 3 main types, Premium, Super Premium and Eucalyptus. We discuss the sizes, the main uses for each one, flavors, where our woods are sourced and all other aspects of each one.
Just a little bit to pique your interest. FOGO is made from a blend of aromatic woods in Central America. That is what gives FOGO its unique flavor profile that it is prized for. This area of the world is famous for its high quality, shade grown coffee. Those shade trees only serve one purpose, to provide just the right amount of shade to make world class coffee. They are constantly trimmed, removed, replaced, and replanted. The wood is too short and doesn’t work for timber, so it has been left to rot on the coffee plantations.
FOGO and the plantations work together to recover the wood and make it into the worlds best charcoal. We would love to hear from you and find out if you have any other questions that we did not cover in the video. Let us know in the comments if there is anything that we can answer for you.

@@FOGOcharcoal Guys. Absolutely lovin’ FOGO Premium 🏆 I’m definitely a believer and will never go back to briquettes. This stuff fires up quick, burns super hot, leaves very little ash and is so freakin efficient that I’ve done 4 hot and fast cooks on pretty much the same batch, only adding a couple chunks to re-light. I’m a FOGO guy for sure ✌🏽

How do you get the super large chunks lit? I struggle to. Today I have a small flat corned beef brisket I’m trying to smoke and since it is small I put one huge log in and used the grill gun to light one side of it hoping it would last all the way through the cook (the flat is only 3 lbs).
