50 years ago I worked in a factory that made many multiples of the same items day in and day out. For me, it was soul crushing and I didn't last too long. My hat comes off and my heart goes out to these folks and all the others like them who have the strength to continue on without fail to feed, cloth, and house their families. They are the true everyday heroes........

I bought this exact nail cutter and it is exquisite. Even on the heaviest cuts one hardly feels the blade they are so sharp. And you have to watch out not to cut too deep! I saw how they test the cutters after the manufacture. I bet there are not many people in the factory with finger nails long enough to test, they are always testing. Maybe they have volunteers with longer nails to test them out. Buy them, you won't be disappointed. A lifetime tool.

I have a couple of pairs of Suwada nail clippers that I bought in Japan five or six years ago. They cut really smoothly and precisely. They’re great.
The Japanese are amazing, even their public toilets are the cleanest in the world!

I bought a nail clipper in Japan when I was there 7 years ago in a normal store and it is still sharp up today. When I get back, I want to check this in niigata since I wanted to go there for the nishikigoi as well

30年位前ですか、話題になったのは。爪切りで六千円越えでしたが切り味が良いと言う事で即座に購入し使いましたが納得‼️大袈裟では無く切った後ヤスリかけなくても爪張りが無くビックリしました。流石に30年以上使用してますので切れ味は落ちて来ましたが、研ぎ直しに出そうと思っていますがその間他の爪切りは使いたく無いのでもう一本買わなくては成りませんね〜因みに缶ケース良いですね、自分のはウレタン型にプラケースなのでぼろぼろ。これからも良い爪切りを、提供して下さい。高いけど一度使えば絶対違いが分かりますし何せ研ぎ直せば一生ですから。

Yup. As a Zoo Keeper, If I had a $1.00 for every time I was bitten/kicked/clawed/squished/submerged in a pool/etc… …I would have enough $ to buy this nail clipper. They may be loved across the earth though, so I may purchase. 👍

My grandma has one of those hi-end nails clipper and a tweezer for almost 40 years now, still usable. Pretty sure it’s not this brand, and purchased from Paris.
Nail clipper from china is just $1 and can do the same thing😆

Вы удивитесь, но экономические показатели растут где есть прибыль. А прибыль высокая где за труд рабочие получают меньшую плату и там где сырье дешевле (покупное или добытое).
Показатели Японии растут только от того что им дали технологии, до этого это была страна с низким показателем развития , а сейчас они лидируют по долгу к ввп среди развитых стран . И обычный народ там выживает также как и везде низкие зп в глубинке если что .

In the early eighties until late 1990, cheap, affordable but sharp nail cutter ( made in Japan) could be bought from store. Nowadays it is hardly to find a decent good nail cutter because most of them brought from China.
Until recently I found out there are good better nail cutter from Japan which my friend bought from Japan which I requested him ( 6 units)to buy because I desperately need a good Japanese nail cutter

5:16-540 is the sharpening process. Love the Japanese attention to detail and pride in their work.

@@oguhsevein No that looks like buffing of the outer surface, and the a guy with a file touching it up. I don't believe you can sharpen nail cutters from one side only on a buff wheel.
Yes the wheel is sharpening it on the outer edge. It also does serve to buff and approximate edges . Then the man with the file does the fine tuning. Two part process. I have sharpened snips like that before on a buff/ sanding wheel. They have it down proper.
