His voice is just so soothing. My seizures are back with a vengeance and almost unmanageable, I've been told multiple things by multiple doctors about right frontal lobe trauma, but his voice helps me through it all. I'm broke, in debt, possibly dying, almost homeless, and trying to cope with it all, but

@@MasterSoki23 I went from a hundry fifty seizures that year to just one in the past 12 months. My meds keep it relatively low, have a not horrible union job, my neurologist, Dr. Singh, says the gliosis hasn't worsened the past eight months. My partner and I just bought a house together, and I got to see my son's eighth birthday. My medical debt is down to about 10k, now.
It's been nearly three years since I almost pulled the trigger, but a mix of willpower, my dad, my best friend, the levetiracetam, phenytoin, and depakote helped turn the tides to a bit more hopeful. I'm most likely going to at least see him graduate high school, and if all goes well, I'll keep my mind some years longer.
I'm happy, and I'm as okay as I could hope to be. Thank you.

    Lyrics:
I don't know where the sun goes every night, every night.
Or where the moon goes, when it's light, when it's light.
I don't mind, as long as it's there in time.
Oh, as long as they're there in time,
    I won't mind, I won't mind, I won't mind.
No one knows where the soul goes when we die, when we die.
Some say to nowhere, some will say the sky, to the sky.
It's all the same, but surely some will find it strange.
But I prefer the mystery remains,
    Unexplained, unexplained, unexplained.
Oh my god, I will hold my tongue,
    And I'll breathe easily,
If anyone can say with any sort of certainty that there is something to believe.
Did you ever think that we'd be three steps from the ledge,
Contemplating awful things and thinking about the end?
Nobody mentioned that the pieces wouldn't fit,
You can rearrange them all you want, but the puzzle it was rigged.
    We swore we'd never stray,
Right before we went our separate ways.
    And now we're looking back,
We're second guessing all the choices that we made.
Who'd have thought we'd fought so long,
We started to see our enemies turn into friends, our friends to enemies
And we set somewhere in between.
    But I heard someone say,
    They knew that someday,
That everything would fall into it's place.
    And everything would be fine.
    And I really, truly, honestly,
Without a doubt want to believe,
    That everything will be alright.

right, so i am INCREDIBLY confused. i knew the lead of SM was also in catch 22, but. didnt know he also went as a soloist named Toh Kay. Also was shocked to see this song as a solo? I adore the SM version on spotify, but cant actually find it on YT. also no clue who victory records are- along w the fact that the hands that thieve also seem to be an album by toh kay, w the same cover as the SM version. did the band just cover all his singles and only put them on spotify or something?

    • @Evan11of10
      @Evan11of10 Před 4 lety +10

He's basically said in interviews that when he writes a song for streetlight, he does it first on an acoustic guitar to get a feel for how it sounds. If he thinks the song works well as a solo acoustic song, he records the Streetlight Manifesto version with the whole band as well as a solo version under the name Toh Kay. A lot of Streetlight Manifesto songs have Toh Kay versions (obviously, this whole album has both a Toh Kay and an SM version), but not all of them.
That being said, Tomas Kalnoky has a sort of fetish for redoing his own work over and over again. Reading the liner notes from the vinyl copy of 99 Songs for The Revolution, he tells a story about making his brother record like 80 takes of the violin part in Linoleum. He's kind of an obsessive perfectionist, and so being able to record two versions of some songs (or three or four versions, if you count the catch-22/BOTAR versions of a few) probably gives him a chance to improve on the songs in little ways, like how the Toh Kay version of If Only For Memories has an extra verse, etc.

Victory records are a record label that screwed Thomas of selling this album for both copyright and money problems.. to my knowledge at least. That's also why the toh Kay album isn't on Spotify, because it's technically not a released album nor will it ever be 🥺 but on the bright side, idk if you know this but he also has a band called Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution 😇
