I wanna hear others interpretation of this song. After having lost my mother, brother and sister I've listened to this song a lot. A lot of people say that it's about when we all die "Your day (to die) will come" but I see it differently. I believe, at least for me, the song is about "The Day" which we learn, truly learn, what Death actually means. As a child Death is more like a phase, people "die" but we hope to see them again. But, I think it's about the moment, when we all look up and realize what Death IS, the true finality and innocence of Death. That it's the one thing that is fair. In both Birth and Death we are all equal; Black, White, Mexican, Disabled, Retarded, Arrogant, all of it never matters at birth and stops mattering at Death. There is nothing bad about dying, it's just a thing we see as bad, but really it's about the only thing in life that isn't good or bad, it's not wrong or right. We all grow someday and see that Death is "what it is" without judgment. A Zen philosophy I live by says "A day is nothing more than the sun rising, and falling, and rising again. A life is not but Birth, and Death, and birth again." I believe that we do reincarnate, but in a different way than most see it. Our Atmos and Molecules leave and go out into the universe, but mathematically speaking, it's a truth that at some point, after eons and eons maybe, but at some point all of the Atoms and Molecules that make up not our bodies, but our Minds will recollect and be together again. We are all star dust, and someday, be it as a bird, another human, or a Nebula, we will come together as ourselves again. When I hear this song it gives me peace of mind, because my day has already come, now I'm waiting for it to end.

I have grown up listening to Catch 22 and Streetlight. I would consider them my favorite band and Thomas probably my favorite writer who has shaped my own writing style. I find self favoring this acoustic album over the new Streetlight album. I have a hunch that Thomas will continue to pursue this acoustic endeavor over streetlight at least in the immediate future. That is ok with me. I will miss streetlight shows though. At least I have attended more than I can remember.

Now it seems the tides have changed. Instead of wittingly commenting against the opposition I feel towards your comment on the previous video, you have decided to troll against me, click on my profile, go to a video that I have viewed, and write a comment opposing against me like I did you. Except I didn't search your profile looking for reasons to comment against you, I just happened to stumble upon your idiotic ideologies. Instead of facing your problems like any normal person would have done, you have now ended up here, with no reason to be here other than trying to refute against me in a very immature way....Unless of course something has coincidentally referred you to this song, than whatever it was leading you to this artist has showed you an amazing band. You should possibly check out Streetlight Manifesto's version of this song, if you feel this is too soft for you. It is the same singer just he does two different versions of many songs through two different bands, both equally satisfying and talented. Kind of like an acoustic version of the songs, without having to deal with the acoustic version bullshit if you don't enjoy acoustic versions of songs on the same CD.

Hey! this might be stupid, but I am a spanish speaker and I am planning to do some transaltion of this song. So, what is the meaning of "Your day will come"? At first I thought that it wa sabout how we are all going to die, but some people say that that "day" that is "coming" is the day when something or someone is becoming successful. If someone could help me, I would be very pleased :)
+fldsmadafer It depends on how you think of the song. For me when he says "your day will come" he's talking about the day we die, the day we're exposed, the day when it all falls apart. The day of our judgement.

It's a complex saying based on the context it's used and each listeners subjective experience with life... There's no one literal translation that encompasses all the possibile interpretations.
Both meanings you were given are equally acceptable answers, but my personal interpretation is that eventually we all die, and our day is coming.
My advice would be to translate the words as literally as possible and let each listener discover their own meaning for it the way the original artist did.

I envy you and the two others, and all others who get to see them live (amongst all the other great bands that hardly ever leave the states to visit europe, and when they do, they tend to visit UK and germany where I cant afford to go. And when i one day CAN afford to go there, i probably wont have the time)
Some of you may see them for the last time, but that's still many more times than some :(
