    Thanks so much for the reply Tuula.
    I have a lot of scrap yarn from various projects over the years. This could be the perfect project for me to keep the stash down to a minimum.
    If it`s not too much trouble, could you please do a tutorial on how to make the half hexagon to neaten up the edges.
    Thanks in advance.

      That's actually a good idea for a tutorial! I could make one but it may not be until after Christmas, so busy with all Christmas stuff at the moment.

      Thanks Tuula. After Christmas would be wonderful, thank you.
      I hear you about busy with Christmas projects. I have so many projects on the go - it`s mind blowing. As well as hats, dishcloths, and scarves for Christmas gifts - I still have a wedding afghan to complete for my oldest son and his new wife as well as sewing a quilt for my youngest son. Busy busy busy. :-D

    great video thankyou, could you do a tutorial on how to join these together so they all look the same with a neat even finish?

    Great tutorial, thank you. I got al kinds of ideas what to make with this shape. Wash cloth, blanket, even sweater by creating two rectangles then sew them together. Can I make the pieces larger by casting more stitches on, as long as they are a multible of 6 ?

    • @TuulaMaaria
      @TuulaMaaria  Před rokem

      Yes, you can make them larger that way. Although if I was making a big hexagon I would start in the middle and increase instead of how I'm showing it here.

    Can we use a magic circle if we don't have enough double pointed needles?

  • @wbrax2
    @wbrax2 Před 6 lety +1

    Thanks for the tutorial Tuula.
    Do I have to do the long tail casting on, or can I do just regular casting on and divide them onto 4 needles?

    • @TuulaMaaria
      @TuulaMaaria  Před 6 lety

      It doesn't matter which casting on you do, I just always do the long tail.

    Hi Tuula, I love this tutorial, I’m currently making a blanket with the hexagons and joining with Celtic lace join - I’m wondering how I secure the thread at the back at the centre of the hexagon so that it stops coming loose?

    • @TuulaMaaria
      @TuulaMaaria  Před 5 lety

      Great you like it 🙂 To secure well, I normally first pass the yarn tail through the stitches in the center and then finish it off by hiding into other stitches long enough.

    Can this be done on circulars?

    • @TuulaMaaria
      @TuulaMaaria  Před 2 lety

      To get a circle you need to spread out the increases differently so it doesn't form points.
