Thank you for the pattern and the tutorial! I am always challenged by this type of pattern and usually go back to making regular-shaped dishcloths. I will try again with this pattern.
The seaming with the stitches still on the needle is amazing. Can't even tell from the front. A mix of Kitchener and 3 needle bind off. New favorite. Thank you.
I can't even tell you how excited I was when I open this up and found your post of this video. I have always wanted to do the stitch and couldn't read the pattern well enough to understand it. I didn't understand how you leave stitches on and turn it. I can't tell you how happy I am that you did this video thank you so much you are the reason why I am a knitter. Please continue these my goal for this year is to learn a new stitch for each project that I start I will add a new stitch even though I am repeating patterns if I choose to. So this is my new stitch for today. Joanne you are a joy God bless you.
Always love love love your videos - as you know! I went through a phase of doing these and plain circles - then forgot about it. I too love that Hobby Lobby cotton yarn - so smooth to knit with. I just bought a bunch of knit picks cotlin (cotton/linen blend) - which I also like - and thought I'd do some of these again. Really like some of your finishing ideas and you guys just do a great job. You are doing something for your family that will be treasured for generations to come in this brave new world of the "good part" of you tube. What a gift! Happy Mother's Day to all of you!
The pattern is very good, I just have trouble watching you knit because I knit the European way .. I was still able to gleam information i like the way you closed it with the needle .. thank you
You are a genius! Thank you so much for posting this. I have been making these for almost a year and usually bind off fully and then seam them and the seam is always ugly. I tried it leaving the stitches on the needles and following you and it's the nicest seam I've ever made. You can't see it at all! Thank you again!
I was looking for a dish cloth project to do, and yours was pretty and easy to follow. Thank you for sharing. I will share this design with the ladies in my knitting circle.
Thank you so much! I have made many of these but struggle with how to finish that last seam. I love the colorful yarn you used! I'm making an assortment of dish cloths for a friend who lost her home. :( I want her to have some special hand made things to make her feel better and know someone cares what she is going through. Have a lovely day!
Im truly excited to try this!!! I'm a self taught at crochet but my hands cant handle it any longer and I have a baby due in April. I have learned knitting is easier on my hands and faster! I cant to make the baby washcloths! Could you make this pattern much bigger and use it for a blanket or a lovey?
wonderful, the most beautiful ever thanks a lot. if I use this design to make poncho for my daughter , she is 5.8 how many stiches I would need to cast? again love to you.
It could open too much using this stitch. You might want to use Bulky yarn, size 11 needles and make short rows using 15, 30 and 45 stitches. Then you could have a nice poncho .
Thank you so much for this video. These cloths are so beautiful. I have a question, however. How might a different cast-on affect the project? Thank you again and God bless.
You could probably do a provisional cast on with a crochet chain if you wanted to close it up with the Kitchener stitch and hide the seam more, at least that's something I've seen done on other similarly knit videos
If you work with more stitches, you still need to follow the same premise. You will have more rows and make sure you have a circle at the end, which means 1 or 2 less repetitions.
You would need to make a swatch with the needles and yarn you're going to be using and see how many stitches you have for, let's say, 4". Then you multiply by the radius you wish your blanket to be. You now need to divide those stitches in 6 parts as the washcloth, to make the "slices".
please could you make a tutorial using a round nylon scrubbie you buy at a dollar store.i bought some they came in 6 in a package for a $1.25 ,i would like to use your star flower as a dishcloth.how could this be made?thank you nancy
In directions you say knit these 10 rows - you must mean 14. At the end of a triangle, you knit back 18 stitches. Do you then start with row 1 and knit 18 or do you go to row 2 and start with knit 6? Can someone help? Thanks.
You are right. Thank you. I need to fix this. Now: When you bind off the 6 stitches, (on pattern #2) , you knit that row and then come back with those 18 stitches. Then you start with the k6, yo, knit until you have 2 left.
i make these for my kitchen and i am seriously thinking of try a table cloth if i can figure out the math. thank you. what is the color of the last one you worked on please i love the colors

I love this pattern. I was wondering if its possible to do a baby blanket with this and how many stitches would I need to cast on.

Thank you for this lovely explanation, Do you have a PDF version of your written instructions? If so, where can I get them?

Thank you so much for this video. These cloths are so beautiful. I have a question, however. How might a different cast-on affect the project? Thank you again and God bless.
Not very much. Any cast on is OK. It's just that some leave a thicker seam.

Your cast on is a backward loop method.

Hi again..forgot to ask if the baby blanket can be done how would the instructions be for it

I have no idea on how to use those scrubbies to make a dishcloth. I like dishcloths and washcloths made with 100% cotton. I'll have to look it up.
In directions you say knit these 10 rows - you must mean 14. At the end of a triangle, you knit back 18 stitches. Do you then start with row 1 and knit 18 or do you go to row 2 and start with knit 6? Can someone help? Thanks.

Iam planning on make this using one Lilly sugar and cream (95 yards) with 14 stitches is it enough? ??
I believe so.
i make these for my kitchen and i am seriously thinking of try a table cloth if i can figure out the math. thank you. what is the color of the last one you worked on please i love the colors
340 Brights Print. Lovely, isn't it. They have other color combinations like this.
Hadn't thought of a table cloth - what a great idea. Don't have a round table, but this would be so pretty and unique.
Are the pattern avalable for these washclothes?
the link to the original video doesn't work. where is the pattern for the 18 row doily? thanks for posting.

Do you have the instructions written out somewhere I can print it? I knit too slowly to be able to keep up effectively. Thanks
Yes, they're on the video description. Just click Show More or the down arrow next to the title (on mobile).
If I want to say do my star piece larger like 28 sts instead of the 18 sts c/o. would I still do the part at 6 sts then as follows as if 18 st c/o ?
