Glad you found a good league to join! I wish someone would start up a TAP league around me. Look forward to seeing more league play again!!
Thanks, man!
Got your act together Josh, good to see. Also your commentary was back on point.
Looking forward to seeing you post matches on a regular basis again.
Thanks, Steve!
I recently joined an APA team in Sacramento , That's all there was. I have all my team watching your videos now for the strategy, and although I am mostly using natural tangent still, because when I tried English my shot accuracy suffered, so I'm slowly trying it on short distance shots. But the safety strategy you use is really helpful . We have a team leader who is a great shot, but I think he is cool with 3 level players and he has not spent much time coaching to make the 3's into 4 or 5's. I really do thank you for the videos ! they are more help for a beginner than I think you understand.
That's awesome! That's why i love doing this.. thanks for all the support!
Actually due to the 23/21 rule if he coaches them into higher levels he will break the skill level cap of 23 or 21 I think it is depending on 8 or 9 ball. Then he has to jet them off the team. Find new players. Kinda sucks I love to see people improve. I see captains only train others so much tho....
Great video sir. Glad you are posting again !
Thanks, homie!
🤣🤣🤣the prom reference made me laugh out loud. Great video keep up the good work.
Thanks, Shooter!
nice to watch Amateur Pool. Great commentary, nice and refreshing. Keep it up mate!
Thanks, Wolfgang!
Good to see you are into in your new league! awesome job man!
Thanks, bro!
good to see ya back on pal
Thanks, monkey! Good to see ya back to watching. Algorithm must have been off. I never left, just haven't been able to post as much lately!
great to see you playing and commentating again Josh. Like always I enjoy all the play by play, my ball control is lacking so i get alot out of your videos. going back a little bit in time with your chalk give away, what did you think about that chalk. and do you know if that is the same as the 1080 or more like the new pure? just curious. :)
It's more along the line of masters chalk but it is kind of dirty (meaning it gets on the table and balls a lot)
Love tap league use to play it in longisland New York
Sweet! I used to travel out to central islip a bit for work.
Way to go Josh! Wins are hard to come by these days! Keep up the good work my man!
Thanks, James!
Little Timmie knows what you mean!!
Hi Josh, did the rest of your old apa Team move to the TAP Team with you? also, do you just need to call the pocket in this league?
Yes, the whole team moved with me. Also, yes.. just call the pocket (no matter how it gets there)
@@Amateur_Pool very nice!
You need to bring back the chicken wing. Good match little timmy! I gotta get one of those hoodies soon.
Lol.. i could use the chicken wing..
Thank you
Thank YOU, David!
Great title. I can totally hear it.
Lol.. i couldn't help it, since the guy i was playing is Marty
nice shooting lil joshy - keep it going brothaaa
Thanks, Tim! 🤣
Is the camera adjusting for light or is the bottom end of the table that dark?
It's a super dark venue
They just need perimeter lights to make the whole table even 😂 Give them the hook up Josh!
@@jonathangoff8005 already talked to him about it.. 😁
Josh what tip size are you working with on that Cuetec Shaft?
I play with an 11.8 but I i've been thinking about going to a 12.4
Behind the line for scratch on the break.
I’ve been watching more of your videos than anyone should!
I’m
retired
Miss league pool
My teammates are gone ( one is left)
It’s cool to see what level I’m still at
Your invited to my home northwest Ohio
Best of luck
I appreciate it, Jeff! Northwest OH isn't too far from me. My in-laws live in Hillsdale, MI (just above the border). Where are you at in OH?
West Defiance
If the cue
ball is pocketed, or driven off the table during the break shot, the
incoming player has cue ball-in-hand 100% behind the head string... So not just behind the line, fully behind it
Thanks.. that's what i thought
Interesting point you make with "fully behind". APA only requires that the contact point of the cue ball with the table be behind the head string.
That’s what behind the line means lol the contact point of the table needs to be behind the head string.
@@toddrobertson1398 huh? There is a difference here, the default 8 ball rules for most leagues and tournaments that play kitchen on break is contact point behind the line, TPA is the entire ball behind the line, contact point is irrelevant
Yes sir behind the line on break
Yup.. he got away with 1
Thanks For The Vids 👍🏽 The Advice I’ll Give You Is Don’t Hit The Ball Hard When You Don’t Have Too. Enjoy The Pool Journey I’m On It With You 💪🏽
hahaha learn pattern play? you do know this dude made it to the finals in vegas for apa cpl years ago right? and makes videos focused on pattern play.
@@drew493I Seen One Match Then I Made A Comment, But Then Kept Watching And Took That Comment Back Lol But If You Seen What I Saw The 1st Match Then You’ll Know Why I Said That. I See You’re A True Fan Of Josh That’s Cool 👍🏽 Thanks For The Rapid Response 😅
All good man.. I'm open to any advice! Sometimes my pattern play needs work, for sure. I'm still learning this game (there's a ton to it).. i appreciate support and advice!
🤣 like prom night! OMG had to pause video to comment! You are a stitch my friend, ya know!
😂🤣😅
Enjoy the content I use to play TAP and its a foul moving a ball even if your clothing moves a ball its a foul. Also yes it is behind the line if scratch on break. Also open table after break up here in Pennsylvania u can use a stripe to make a solid or vice versa if called. We r just getting APA in our area gonna try it out I was a 5 in TAP. Rules may apply different in states IDK but best of luck to u and I'll continue to watch the content also any advice for APA or new stuff to learn would love to know thanks.
For sure.. my advice would be not to bother with apa. If you have a good league operator, it can be okay but the national office runs the league like a joke
Gotcha well it beats city league lol but it's something new so I'll try a season out and see how that goes we start in April
I missed the video for the giveaway. Did you already do the giveaway? Which video, I’d love to watch it
it's my last video ($1,000 vs $150 Cue) - you have until 2/12/24 to enter!
Ok sounds good thank you
Enjoy watching your channel my friend.
Thanks, Hank!
Get well soon .
How are you liking tap?Are your lower caps liking it?
We all like it so far... it's kind of like APA, only better rules and way less BS.
@@Amateur_Pool HIgher sl players in general I assume?
@@AAAskeet not at all. There's all SL's
Good match Josh! Played with 2 nipples but didn’t get in the hole. Mwah hahaha! Good stuff! Why ask why, do I have to remember the Bud Dry commercial, but I do. 🤣
Lol.. just like prom night! Thanks, man
Niiice bounce back win Josh. Can tell you got some practice in. First rack, scratch on the break is in the kitchen. It's not a foul when someone shoots from beyond the head string. Sportsmanship deal. Didn't hurt you this time so no harm done.
Thanks, Dave
Repin michigan! My man.. I'm up IN APLENA
Sweet!! I got family up north..
On my app I'm working on I had you at a high 6 against Frank a few videos back. (almost a 7) Everyone keep in mind I'm looking at everything that happens in the match. APA is all about innings. Fargo is about who you beat and by how bad. This app actually looks at what really happens on the table.
Nice!
Nice runout
Thank you!
You’re welcome
Yeah, I play TAP league, and following a scratch off the break, the other player gets the ball anywhere in the kitchen shooting out of it, not the whole table.
Do they have a 9 ball league in your area
I'm not sure if they do yet or not.. I'll ask! I love playing 9 ball (probably my fav game)
@@Amateur_Pool I loved playing apa 9 ball but as a 9 it was just to hard to keep a team together
Very last? Isn't that a double negative?
i dunno.. ain't it? 😁
When Marty moved the 8 with his tip then moved it with his finger without asking you first that's a foul.
You're right.. when he moved it back, it became a foul.
Last Tuesday played 1st tap and. Won
Awww, yeah! Nice work
Lil arms has stage fright 😂😂👍😘
Lol.. you got to come up with a new diss.. the little arms thing doesn't translate as funny as you think, lol 😁🤣
@@Amateur_Pool its not me, its my translater.
Dont be so sensitive bro 😘
@@Amateur_Pool And I find something new my Lady....
@joachimfuchs7061 I'm not offended, and not being sensitive. I just know you're trying to jab at me and wanted to let you know that the translation on that doesn't really work the way you think it does.
How you enjoying TAP?
Love it so far! It's like APA, only better rules, and they seem to care more about the players and the sport
@@Amateur_Pool right - I agree. I’m excited to see what you can do in the league! I’m in both but gravitating a bit more towards TAP than APA although I used to feel the opposite. Handicapping seems a bit more thorough in TAP, and the league operators for my league are very organized and great communicators.
@26:30 was cross corner reasonable?
all of his balls were wide open. I seen no other good choice but to try to make it. I like to stay aggressive, typically.
@@Amateur_Pool my imagination, aka in my head it looked better, suggested cross corner bank could have made the stripe and let the cute ball hit his solid to hold it for the 8 in the same pocket. Down side if you miss hitting his ball you could end up hooked.
@@birdmun ya, that wouldn't have been a bad play
the "bluh bluh bluh" is what we call motorboating the pocket. You know what I'm talking about, you already know. Reply to my comment if you know what movie I'm referencing. You already know...
I've heard motor boating on a few movies, i think! Lol...
Josh once you get acclimated at the new job, you will be back to practicing and play better. Ask your last opponent you want to revenge that beatdown he gave you. When will black/ or orange hoodies come to the shop? You think Alamo billiards can start selling elephant training balls? I been looking
I think the Black/Orange hoodies are a great idea! Not too sure about the elephant balls (except the set that I have in my draws, lol)....
This looks like me after 5 double Tito's shots.
Lol
I play TAP in Atlanta & we do not have to mark the pocket for the 8-ball.
Nice!
I hate the APA mark the pocket rule. You should only have to mark it if is a bank shot.
Once he made contact with the cue ball in front of the head string is a foul
Ya, he got away with that one.. i didn't catch it
@@Amateur_Pool make sure to keep your eyes on it and hope to see you at Rally or Nationals
Get down in your basement and put in a couple hours! That way your next Tap match will be a Tap dance.
Been trying to, bro... i literally have very little time right now. It sucks!
So I dont understand.. you're not a skill level 7 anymore? Or just in this TAP league you're 5? How does that work?
I just started tap league. They started me as a 6 but i lost the first week so i went down to a 5.. it will take a little data (games) before my skill level is accurate
@@Amateur_Pool Oh alright. Thanks for replying. Keep shooting! 🤙🏼🎱
Opponent was a little sloppy but a win is a win. What happened, Josh, weren’t you a 7 at some point?
In APA i was a 7. They started me as a 6 in this league but i lost the first week and went down to a 5. It's a brand new league so, it'll take a little bit before my SL is accurate.
26:33 Instead of the upper left corner, the upper right (two rail bank) would've been easier and, with a simple draw, you'd been sitting pretty on that 8-ball, little Timmy...but then again, pretty you ain't, lol.
I dunno if the 2 trail would have been easier or not. Both were tough, but it was def an option!
Sweet!!! First view, first like, and first comment!!! I WIN!!!
10 points for Dustin! Nice work, lol 😆
Silly rules re moving balls randomly. First rack where opponent moves the 8-ball not once, but twice with the rest?! Any contact should be an immediate foul and the player gives up his turn. Most players call these sorts of fouls on themselves, or most honest players at least. Comes from snooker world and gentlemen being gentlemen. ;-)
Ya, i hear ya.. that's just not the way most amature leagues are played in the US. Pro's always play all ball fouls but, amateur leagues play cue ball foul only. I would prefer all ball fouls but, that's not how it is here.
Snooker, gentlemen, that's hilarious
@AdamMarr lol, we've all seen O'Sullivan be a "gentleman." 😆 🤣
what kind of weird rules are they playing here, seems like a mix up of APA and BCA. Should be ball in hand for any scratch and you shouldn't lose when scratching shooting the 8 unless you sink the 8 also.
Does seem to be just like vnea. Scratch on break is behind the line. Also, scratch on the 8 is a loss (this is true with 99% of any rules)
Most rule sets I've looked at , a scratch on the 8 is only a loss if the 8 is pocketed. Now I did look at TAP rules and it is a loss even if the 8 isn't pocketed.
@@Amateur_Pool i think bca is the only one I can think of where scratching on the 8 isn't a loss of game. I know it is a loss in vnea and apa.
@drew493 it rarely happens but, I'm pretty sure scratch on the 8 is a loss, even at the pro level
@drew493 VNEA isn't, CSI which is BCA isn't and WPA it isn't either. The only ones I could find were APA and TAP but there are probably others I didn't think of.
Bud Dry sucked. I was more of a MGD guy back in the day. You know?
I agree.. it def sucked. The commercial was cathy though
I swear you were like SL8 ?
In apa i was a 7/9.. currently, in tap i am a 6..
