- Since Minecraft's release, people have been making a variety of mods for the game. Some of these have made a huge impact on the game and forever go down in Minecraft history like the Aether and Lucky Blocks, and today we're going to be showcasing some of them.

The aether mod was created by kingbdogz who was in modding for ten years and in January of 2020 he became a minecraft developer 😀

For me my favorite mod was the More TNT one. Remember really wanting it when PopularMMOS showcased it.

Same I remember Poppiuarmmo’s Lukcy Block battles along with Ssundee’s videos. I remember waking up and seeing that Ssundee uploaded the More TNT mod on CZcams from my Wii.
The Aether is literally the most iconic mod, everyone tried to do a portal to the Aether on vanilla minecraft as a child

100% Mo’ Creatures deserved to be on the list, undeniably. It’s just as iconic as the Aether is.
Fossils and archeology was pretty cool too

The undergarden mod is a pretty impressive mod that adds in a new dimension that gives a cold underground feel like its in between the nether and overworld with interesting new blocks, atmosphere and soundtrack. You should really check it out especially because it works with 1.19

The Aether portal is the most iconic mods ever in the Minecraft history. Until so many Minecrafter (including me back in the day) tried to recreate one in the normal Minecraft (without mod)

Some of my favorite mods back in the day were Mutant Creatures, Twilight Forest, Orespawn, Better Dungeons/Chocolate Quest, Legendary Beasts, and the Farlanders mods.

Fun thing: I actually managed to find the world where I tried to make an aether portal about 7 years ago. I went through all of my old MC worlds and found a creative world with a glowstone portal and some water. I found the relic of my ruined dreams.

Really shows how well it would've fit as a vanilla dimension in Minecraft. Mojang probably hired the creator of the mod because he was able to make it feel somewhat vanilla.
I remember all of these mods. The fact that they're considered "historic" just shows how old I am...

I'm actually surprised Millenaire didn't come up. It had gotten deep before it seemingly got abandoned. It was a mod that added custom villages based on real cultures from the past, starting with the Normans. Other cultures like the Hindi, Japanese, and Aztek soon followed. I miss that mod. Simple Ores probably wouldn't put up in such videos, but there was a bit more to it than simply more ores, in spite of it's name. I do believe both the bows the mod added were different in their own way. Onyx bows essentially had Flames built in as a feature. Oh, and there the specialized nether ores. A full set of Illuminite meant fall damage, but it was rather weak on protection and durability. There was also an armor than made you immune to the lava/ fire. Both have their downsides in protection and durability. I think one was on par with iron on one of the two, but not the other, possibly vice-versa. I can't remember the other stuff, but I know there was more to the ores beyond this and I think alloys were later added.
Wow... never mind. Simple Ores is still around and getting updated. It's gone through a few changes as well. They gave another one of the nether ores a unique full-set ability, jumping higher. The sword also poisons, I think. Also, it's a durability thing for Illuminite and Fyrite. Their level of protection is around Iron. Fyrite swords might have low durability, but it's essentially a Fire Aspect sword that can also function as a Flint n Steel. There's three bows, one from an alloy. They all function differently. One can zoom in better. One sets things on fire. And the alloy one has more knockback as well as the highest amount of damage for a bow. The furnaces are still roughly the same. They're all faster than default. Onyx furnaces have a chance to get two items for the price of one, including food. The furnaces was one of my favorite aspects along with the bows. I swore Mythril's gimmick had something to do with not consuming the fuel periodically, a reduced fuel usage, or fuel is good for double the smelting/ cooking.

I love Biomes O’Plenty! But honestly, my favorite mods are Pam’s Harvestcraft and Cooking for Blockheads. It’s so cool to have food other than like steak, mutton, porkchops, and the rest imo.
I still remember doing every crafting in the mc mod videos in youtube not knowing what mods are and be disappointed when they don't work, like the iron man suit and aether portal.

I remember. Coming home from school on a rainy day, as my friend came over. We got out our Xbox 360 controllers and played Minecraft for hours. We attempted everything we could to get the Aether portal to work, but it never did lmao. We learn about 2 years later we learned it was a PC Mod. We were slightly upset.

It really doesn’t. It’s a well made mod but it doesn’t fit in vanilla Minecraft.
Edit: I don't really know how to describe my opinion, so here goes.
The Aether mod is viable as a new dimension, however there would have to be a lot of major adjustments. First of all, the inventory changes made for the Aether mod's items would have to have an impact of the rest of the game. The Aether mod's items themselves would have to be changed or scrapped due to their effects on the vanilla gameplay. Even though it fits thematically, a lot of changes would have to be made to the loot table and structures to fit Mojang's parameters. The additional bosses would have to be added carefully as well.
Mojang has added some previous mods to Minecraft (Horses, & pistons) however changes had to be made to fit the game better.
Although I know that the Aether's developer was hired by Mojang, I think that it has more to do with the talent of the developer rather than the viability of the Aether, despite fitting thematically.
Probably could happen. I think Mojang got the developers behind the Aether mod to get the 1.16 nether work so yeah

My personal favorite and iconic mod of all time is Millenaire. It spawns villages and NPCs of different cultures and allows you to learn languages, trade with different villages, increase relations between different cultures, complete specific questlines and eventually become the head of your own village.

@@admiralcrackbar8465 How come? Tinkers isn't tedious at all, it streamlines the tool making process, and the only tedious part of it is deciding what buffs you want your tools to have and thus what materials. Also, the tinkers addons now have armour! Which is super cool imo.
@@char11eg it's mostly gathering the resources to build the forge, and using is has gotten stale for me, cause it's usually the first thing i do in any modpack. I try to min max too much and spend 30 min flipping through the book just to make a pickaxe, which isnt all that fun.

I used to almost exclusively watch mod reviews and modded let's plays (mostly from SSundee) when I was around 7. This brought back so many memories.
The battleblock theater music at the end made me happy
My favorite was clay soldiers. I’d play it all the time with my brother, and we’d each make an army of soldiers and equip them up and then watch them fight

@@Redsox-nl9nw yeah, big mistake for that and even bigger mistake for not mentioning how influential the orespawn mod is to the modding community.
Orespawn completely expanded the scope of how big minecraft mods could be and made the entire modding scene blow up and helped the modding community become as big as it is today.
how is it different?
Glad to hear Aether music for most of the video, its actualy the most emotional and geniually best music in minecraft, although the new cave and cliffs songs have some that are slowly closing in too.
