This is the same group that did "Oh What A Night"...the song you reacted to a few weeks ago. Many hits by the group & Frankie Valli as a solo artist. "My Eyes Adored You".. "Swearin` To God".. "Who Loves You".
They did a musical Broadway show on this group and it was HUGE. I actually went and watched it playing on Broadway in New York. Absolutely fantastic. It was called the Jersey boys. If you ever get a chance? Wow

Over 60 songs to hit the Billboard top 100, 40 top 40 hits, 20 top ten hits and 7 number one ☝️ hit recordings. Not bad for a bunch of Jersey Boys.
Their earlier stuff was a lot different , check out Rag Doll and Big Girls Don’t Cry ☮️💜
This is still my favorite Four Seasons songs out of all of them and still listen to it in 2022 and never get tired of it, its soft, soothing, strong and great tempo and beats that mix well together with slight instrumental.
You guys really need to hear "My Eyes Adored You " We all came relate to it.

NO Joking! - my husband, just before he asked me to marry him, presented me with a CD that he had made and asked me to listen to it - alone. I did, and the CD started with this song!! Did I marry him? you bet- 40 years now. We grew up in the 60's/70's so he had put quite a collection of "love songs" onto that CD. I still have it too!

Can you believe Frankie Valli is 87 yrs old, where do the years go. So many hits, including this gem, includes MY EYES ADORED YOU, DECEMBER, 1963, WALK LIKE A MAN and RAG DOLL just to name a few. Like I have said countless times you will never go wrong listening to songs from the 60's, 70's and 80's.
Omg this was in Conspiracy Theory with Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson. That upbeat section was stuck in my heat for weeks! My oldest son didn't help any. When he'd realize it was leaving me he'd just casually start singing it again. 🙄

The 4 Season were very popular in the early 60s and into early mid 70s. Like many acts back then then were putting out hit after hit songs. Most of their big hits were in the early 60s to mid late 60s. This one came out I think around 67 or 68'.
"Opus 17" by the 4 Seasons, doesn't get suggested much, but it's got some of Frankie's best vocal acrobatics, and some of their best backing harmonies.

This was was originally, & officially, released as Can't Take My Off You by Frankie Valli. No Seasons. This was his first solo hit, & the version you listened to is the original version. And yes, this was his hit first. All other versions are covers.

No, Frankie had recorded 4 other SOLO songs before this---The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore, You're Gonna Hurt Yourself, You're Ready Now, and The Proud One-----between 1965-1967, but they were relatively minor hits---before this one!

This song was my song for my husband when I met him 31 years ago while I was dating 5 guys. Needless to say the 5 was let go and I grabbed him and married him a year later. Unfortunately he went to his heavenly home 7 years ago but I still think of him when I hear this song.

That's called misinformation---do not know where you got that but it is not even close to being true---not exactly a song father would be singing to his daughter!!------the lyrics for the song were written by Bob Crewe and of course had nothing at all to do with Frankie's daughter----you maybe confusing this song with his other big hit- "My Eyes Adored You"---in the movie "Jersey Boys" there is a scene where Frankie sings that song to his young daughter--but it is just in the movie---again Bob Crewe also wrote the lyrics for that song and it also had nothing to do with Frankie's daughter--- I believe Frankie's daughters were born in 1959 and 1960---this song was written in 1967 and "My Eyes" in 1973
