Empty Coal Train Chase| 6/11/2024

In this video we cap off my Northwoods trip with a train chase on my way home. This takes a little bit of luck as the Hinckley Sub doesn’t see that much traffic but I lucked out an empty coal train needed to head south out of Superior, WI. We start off the video in the rain at Boylston, the very beginning of the Hinckley Sub and work our way down south. Eventually the sun came out at Brook Park and even get a bonus train featuring the Hinckley local with 37 cars. We end off the chase at Isanti on the Hinckley Sub but after a quick crew change at Northtown we get one more runby at Wayzata from the new boardwalk in town. Enjoy!

Awesome chase . Aren’t coals pretty rare on the hinckley ?

Yep, Brainerd Sub is the more preferred route.
