- Ok guys, you asked for it! Heres my first crude attempt at a vlog and taking you guys along on my gig to Tempe with LANCO. Had a lot of fun recording this stuff, even thought the production quality is pretty low lol hang in there with me guys. I hope some of you find this interesting! Have a bunch more videos coming and so excited about it! Leave a comment telling me what you'd like to see more of!

I'd rather listen to a guitar player who really isn't a content creator than a content creator who really isn't a guitar player.
Amen
Some advice from an old guy who spent over 30 years making his living with music, much of it on the road. #1.
dint drink a beer in the afternoon. It will make you tired, and throw you off your stride. Better to not drink at all, but never before a gig. Save it for after the show. Makes life more manageable.
Good advice if the beer affects him the same way it does you, but we're all different.
Don’t worry at ALL about “low production values.” What that really means is “authenticity,” and that’s what we want. At the same time, it both shows why musicians would want to do this AND takes some of “glamour” out of it and shows us…it’s still work.
And you’re very good at your job. 😊
Thank you! I'm glad you guys are enjoying this type of style, I agree it keeps it more real. No B.S!
What makes these videos valuable is the raw, real qualities, we don't want glossy, over produced content, so keep up the great work, very interesting!
IMO, part of the charm of CZcams vlogs is the unpolished quality. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
Thank you!!
Such a cool experience. Thanks for taking us with you. Someday before they put me in the ground, I'll fly to a gig on a huge stage with a huge crowd in front of me.
Thanks for watching David, I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
L
@TimAvenMusic you will be at 100k in know time I can tell your a nice humble guy and that there will take you far Love ❤from Vermont😊😮❤😂
You said a couple times in the video that you don’t know of people would like this. As someone who wanted to do what you do, I love it. Keep it up.
I'm glad you guys are enjoying it!
I’m an amateur musician and I am amazed at what professional musicians are capable of doing. Musicians have said that when on tour, they are not paid for the 75-90 minutes they are playing music - they are paid for touring. That is, they’re paid for all of the stuff they have to do between performances. I think people like your videos because you are authentic, honest, and a cool dude. You’re also a helluva player.
Tempe is a great city, the rocks in the background look like Papago park.
Used to love hiking in those hills.
Being a musician myself for almost 40 years (playing, teaching, and now owning a music school), I think your videos and channel are fantastic!! I think people can really benefit from great working musician like yourself. For what it's worth, personally, I like videos without much editing and "bells and whistles." Keep up the great work. I have a feeling your channel is going to explode!!
Hey Tim! Man, this is so fun. I'm 45 now, but in my younger years I did plenty of travel/recording/performing (mostly as a bass guy or drummer), and this video actually made me MISS those days! Nowadays I'm a solo dad to two teen daughters, but I'm getting back into songwriting/recording and you're making me want to start thinking about ROUND 2 of the "being a musician" gig. Cheers!
Tim, thanks for offering to take us with you on your journey. I think a lot hobby players who always dreamed of doing it for a living, like myself, will love this series.
I found your channel last week Tim and I'm really enjoying it!
You are a very talented young man who brings a lot to LANCO who was already a great band!
Keep playing! Keep the great content coming and keep taking us along!
Love the content Tim. Keep up the awesome info sharing, really enjoying,
Possibly another side of your video sharing you might not have thought of, is us old musicians who are giddy with being able to watch a young buck like yourself pay his dues, when we made our choice decades ago to *NOT* make the choice of “chasing our musical dreams”, and are glad of it, lol.
You are working your *ass* off, obviously, and the travel/hotels/ubers/buses/booze, etc can take a toll.
Luckily for us, you’ve got your head on straight, and are already experienced with some of the pitfalls.
Enjoy the journey bud, and HUGE thank you for taking us along for the ride!!
Very organic content. And hey, everyone appreciates the no BS approach. Great channel!
Done that 40 years ago only we traveled in vans or on a tour bus. Didn't get rich but had a great time and have some great memories. My band got back together about 5 years ago after 37 years and we still had the magic. We played 3-4 shows a year then covid hit then our piano player/ leader moved to Arizona. We might do a get together sometime in the future. Now I play guitar in the Church praise team with some great musicians.
I never get to see the real day inside the glamorous life of a professional musician. This is cool and pretty unique. Thanks, love it, please keep going.
It's not glamorous, but that's what's cool about it. We're all everyday normal people at the end of the day
@@HipsterNgariman I know, it was tongue-in-cheek.
Love you dude, I wish more musicians had your attituded and outlook about gigging.
I'm an retired PA operator, nothing big just lot's of bands in the UK, the ego's of some musicians are just unbelievable. Hat's off to you and I wish you all the success in the world.
Have subbed and look forward to your future uploads.
Graham.
Thanks for taking us along to Tempe. Your guitar work is excellent. I appreciate the time and effort you are putting into your videos. Play on, Tim. 🎸
New to the channel and digging it! Between you and Lee Sklar I get to see two different stages of the same passion... very cool!
Very cool video! I've been playing in cover bands for over 25 years. It's the waiting around to play that always gets me. Keep flicking those strings my friend!
loved it. I don't mind the production roughness, it's the experience I love seeing. Hope it's not awkward to your bandmates. I know groups can get touchy about revealing soundchecks, sweats and tshirts, rough sounds and anything that's not shiny and chrome when it's all about the lime light. Us non-pro musicians love this though, seeing the life we dream about and will never live. Thanks man!
Great video - it is crazy all the work that goes into a show!
You are doing a great job. Thanks for taking the time to document and post your experiences.
You did a great video! Thank you for sharing your gigs with us, I look forward to more!
Hey dude! Just found your channel and am loving your videos. I'm moving to Nashville in a month so these videos are perfect timing!
Your a genuine dude showing a rad life ! People are gonna stay to watch you. Kiko formally from Megadeth did these on the road vlogs a few years ago and seemed like he nailed the formula, they were so freakin cool to watch. Keep up the good work brother 🤘 🎸
Great video Tim, thanks! When I was in a band it was 5 guys in a van pulling a Uhaul trailer. We loaded everything in/out ourselves and I drove the van. It was tough but those were some really good times. You have a sweet gig there man and it seems like you've earned it. Cheers
Tim I love your genuine content! Your style is unique and an awesome way of sharing your work with the rest of the world. Keep it up brother!
I watch guitar vids and stumbled onto your channel via another persona I have on YT. These videos you make are so enjoyable, informative, entertaining. Love the stuff.
Such a neat guy to give us a unique and authentic look into the band scene and music in general. Thank you Tim
Thank you for doing this!
Your like watching a good friend tell how his day went. You play fantastic by the way!
Great playing Tim. Keep the vids coming!
This is sick, thank you!! I'd love to see more gigs
Great job Tim! Subscribed. You're currently at 4.77K subs so, your channel's catching fire dude! Press on!
Hi Tim. I’m new to the channel and I’m really enjoying it. I’m actually a steel player sitting in my car waiting for my wife to get out of the doctors office before heading out to my gig.
I’ve been playing in local bands for many years. It’s been my dream to get to play and your level but that’s really not a problem at this stage of my life. I’m retired now, in my 60’s and still playing live gigs.
I’m a lucky man! Thank you for posting the life that I’ve always dreamed of living. I’m really enjoying it.
Wow. Great video. Love the little details that you won't see on most polished to no end videos. Glad I found you channel.
Man I dig what you are doing very raw and pure. No bullshit stuff
It’s exciting watching your channel grow!
It's definitely interesting seeing your "a day in the life" video. Keep doing what you're doing. You come across very down-to-earth and sincere. Obviously, others are enjoying your vids as much as I am because you've gained about 2K subscribers since I subscribed a few days ago.
Keep the gig videos coming. The video quality is fine, editing is fine, Just be yourself young fella. We'll be watching. God Bless.
Hey Tim this is a great video and love the 'insider' commentary you're providing. I'd love to see some shots of what you're seeing too and you can narrate about the different rooms, views, stages, whatever. Keep it coming!
Love your content. As an amateur musician who only plays farmers markets and open mics, I find it really interesting to see what happens in the world of a professional musician.
Hi Tim. I enjoy your videos a lot because you get what you see. You give a real insight into the music business. I hope you don’t change your presentation format. Over the years I have seen a few you tubers start off just like your self but they go commercial and forget about the initial supporters. I enjoy anything that you do and I wish you the best in your new venture.
Thanks so much Tim you guitar tone rocks. Love it
So appreciate the purity of your content - please keep it real, just like you're doing
Really enjoying ur videos man. Love the PRS guitars ❤
Alright! Tim, you've got a new fan in me. AND I dig your casio watch too.
Thanks great… we watch because it’s a vicarious thing… and you’re getting better at what you’re doing on these videos
Great videos, please keep them coming!
You're doing great. Really enjoy it. It's good for you too because it helps you with the self discipline you need for building your career on the road. I've seen a lot of careers implode from a lack of self discipline on the road. Lotta crazy temptations out there trying to derail an upcomer like you. Good chops too my man!
Bravo and well done! Enjoy it while you’re still young as time marches on quickly. Think of the long game and plan accordingly as we all grow old rather quickly.
great video, very interesting stuff behind the music world scenes!
Great video man. Hope to see more in the future.
Awesome video man! It's fun being a fly on the wall and seeing behind the scenes! Maybe at some point you can show us your delay settings? I use a helix for my gigs & I'm struggling with getting the right mix for my lead.... and now you're over 3k subs congrats! Yes I agree with the masses.... phone video is great...just keep it real & be genuine...people crave that... nice work!
Really enjoyed. You and Uncle Larry are both great. Lovely souls and great guitarists!!
Thank you kindly!
Great video! Loved hearing all about Nashville. Pay is what I expected. You are doing great if you can make enough money to live on by playing music. Keep playing bro! This video is great! Will be subscribing for more.
Bro please keep making these videos! long story short, I worked for ten years in finance and decided I loved my guitar more so music is my future. I love seeing someone with real experience share what it’s really like and not just the glamour shots. Lmao thank you!
My name's Chandler, too! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
I am really enjoying the content of you videos. A day in the life of a professional musician is great.
You are doing what I wish I could have done. Keep up the good work, my friend!
.
I really like the inside story we get from you. Keepem coming.
And almost 8k subs! Good job young man!
Your videos are fascinating and you seem very open & honest about everything - really appreciate it. Also, just curious about your music history and background, how you've developed as a guitarist? Any recommendations for other beginning/intermediate guitarists? I haven't gone through all your videos yet, so I apologize if you've already mentioned in a video. Appreciate your feedback! Side note-great channel! Yes, always hit those likes and hit the Bell to 'all'! It's the least i (or anyone viewing your channel) can do. Thanks again! Abe
Appreciate all the content you are posting for us bro, very cool 😎 I really enjoyed the inside info on playing gigs in Nashville, I'm in Upstate SC but have family in Nashville and yes I'm a weekend warrior lead guitar player for a couple bands. I've often thought of going to Nashville to play just for fun
Can't wait to see a day in the life on Broadway....hint hint😎😎🤘🤘

Hey Tim, I stumbled on your video man and it's pretty cool bud. Phoenix is my home town but I live in Australia so it was great to see my stomping grounds. And a cool behind the scenes look. Keep it up man. Good job.

Thank you David! I love that DGT!
Really enjoyed watching this! I can SO identify (weekend/some traveling gigging musician heree)- and it was because you were so real and laid back, and cool. I had to laugh when you said something like "I'm no Tom Bukovac" LOL!!!! I'm a subscriber now : )

The green room is actually a green room! Now that is funny! 😁

Very good video, enjoyed it. Thanks
I'll be playing a festival with you on memorial day weekend! Hope to run into you man! Love the videos!
Such a good vlog showing your real life. In terms of copyright, if I were you I would play it on the safe side because you never know with these companies. I wish you well in your journey!
This is great man! So cool to see what its really like ☀️😎😎
Glad you like it!
You are doing a great job. Don't worry about making a perfect video- you can do voice overs and its fine. Another approach you can use is a decent lav mic setup. I use the DJI wireless mics and they do amazingly well at rejecting background noise, so you can avoid most copywrite stuff with that. I recently shot in Vegas which was crowded and loud with music, and the audio was totally usable. But yea I agree your raw phone based shooting is great- it can set you apart from the others. We feel like we are with you for the ride.
And one more thing- your playing is always a blast to watch, so keep that coming.
This is a great idea! I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks for watching and the great advice!
VERY interesting Tim. Keep it up, I am a new fan.
my fav part... those taco's... ur killing me.
i see you have already have gotten a lot more subs , good work !
Dope cool to watch it all.
As an old senior who has been playing guitar my entire life, but made the choice not to pursue a music career, your content is extremely enjoyable, keep it up.
Would like to know how you got so good at guitar!!
Great channel. keep it up Tim. The voice over is OK don't let YT demonetize you. Especially now that your over 1K subs. nice job editing this one. You'll get better the more you do it. Pain in the ass and time consuming. Thanks for great content. T😎
Great video dude!
Interesting! Congrats on the 1,000 subs!😎👍
…but mow it is heading toward 6 thousand!😎👍
Tim, you are doing this in a perfect way to make us happy! Thank you.
Keep the videos raw with quick edits really easy to watch and post fast! Great video....
