Grew up with Christian beliefs, but in my late teens, I began to read the Bible for myself, and from that point on, began a progressive journey of seeing many unanswerable problems, contradictions, odd teachings of every single denomination I became a part of, blatant arrogance of Paul, etc. A few years ago I began to do a deeper study determined to finally do a reading of the "Old Testament.all the way through to the "new"" What was easy to see was that there is no such thing as an Old Testament, in the sense of the way Christianity uses the label. Additionally, all the stuff like a rebelling angel didn't make sense. Anyway, God led me to see it is all stuff that happened to some Jews after Babylon, and due to the Greek and Roman world of the New Testament. Love this man. He nails it every time.

It truly is remarkable that Revelation, rejected by the Eastern Church as not representative of Christian ideals and subsequently relegated to an appendix by Martin Luther along with the Apocrypha, should become so central to modern evangelical Protestant Christianity.
Much of the parables are apocalyptic and so are the sayings if you understand them so Revelation just expands upon the apocalypticism all over Matthew and Luke.

In Targum Yonatan, Isaiah 11:4 there is a reference to an anti-Messianic figure called Armilus (Romulus, Rome). In Pirkei-Ha-Mashiach he is called "Satan Armilus, whom the Gentiles call Antichrist."
Paula Wallace refer to the book the antichrist and a cup of tea. One man, who is alive today, is qualified to fit the description of the beast. I'm just wondering if the Messiah or Messianic age comes, then eventually the Jewish Temple would be rebuild again on the temple mount? However, the Islamic Mosque or the Dome of the Rock is located at the temple mount. Will there be a conflict between Jews & Arabs if the 3rd Temple would eventually rebuild?
No, everything will fall in place. The Arab Prophet Muhammad was very Jewish-like. He never contradicted the Law of Moses (quite the contrary), he never said that he was an angel, or the promised messiah, or whatever. (He adored Jesus and Mary.) The real division is between the Old and the New Testament, and that's what the good rabbi explains in such a refreshing way.

The true bible or the Tanak which is the OT to you, doesn't say that there is an eternal hell. It doesn't say a man will die for our sins or even can die for our sins. As a matter of fact it says no man can die for our sins Psalm 49:7, Duet 24:16, Ezekiel 18:1-30, Jeremiah 31:30. All the jobs, prophecies and qualifications of the Messiah, the Tanak tells us, J failed at every single one of them. The Tanak tells us that we don't need anyone to have a beautiful relationship with G-d. We can do it all by ourselves. I'll go by the Tanak and not by the NT. So unless you can prove to me that the Tanak says we need J then I'll go by the Tanak and it's true message. That message so clearly says J is a false G-d, false Messiah and false prophet. Since it gives no hint of any new bible to come I reject the NT and all other bibles. Have a good day.
I think the most hardest and horrifying thing for me was after learning the truth was seeing Christianity videos with the woken open eyes! Every single prophet rapture video i seen just made my stomach turn to sickness! I cant unsee it for what it is now! One huge lie! Another problem is that people think that God taking the form of man is "humble". God would not do that. Humility in God's eyes is truth not lowering or lessening oneself.

This is probably the greatest podcast yet on this channel. It is full of rich explanation and wisdom using Tanakh when discussing what Jews mean by eschatology and what Christians mean by eschatology. Thank you Rabbi Singer. I even learned today how we as the Jewish people view Satan. It is quite different from the Christian narrative of Satan. Although, I did like your comparison of dualistic thinking between Christianity and Zoroastrianism, Christianity does not see Satan as a god. Satan in the Christian narrative was the arch angel of God. And do to His vanity he thought he could replace God and thus was cast down with a third of the angels that followed him in his days of glory. We could go into why Christians think such. Anyhow, I just wanted to point that out. I loved how you explained how much Greek ideology filtered or permeated into Christianity, especially by the end of the 1st and second centuries C.E. And by the time of the gospel of John or Paul's epistles in the late first century, Greek ideology started to take root and became somewhat subliminal years later.

Things pulled me out when I got ahold of Greek and translated. Like when Jesus said I and my father are one in John, the Greek translates as I and my father work as one. Not that they are one and the same. I also noticed parts where it says the I Am as Greek meaning god, but in parts Jesus states I am, it used different words like a state of being, like I am hungry type of I am. I couldn’t trust anything I was reading after that. If they mistranslated or changed to to be more christological, I was done. On top of that misquoting “OT” or changing the meaning, was just more fingerprints of the crime to me. Then you have different “translations” that also force each denominations theology in the way it is written. Especially study bibles. Drove me crazy until I finally saw the truth. I’m done with them. Torah is the truth. They shouldn’t even be allowed to slap their bible onto Torah. Total contradiction and replacement texts. They want Jesus? Keep that NT to yourselves.

Aj Sadly people will see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe. Of course G-d has the power to do what he wants. But he will never go against what he said or law created. He states that i am not a man to change my mind. The covenant with the Jewish people is not to be broken. Covenant with Noah not to destroy man by a world flood would never happen again. There are those who believe that there will come a deceiver who will rule with an iron hand and will seat in the 3rd (future) Jewish temple and demand to be worshiped.While there are others like Rabbi Tovia Singer who don't believe (according to their Jewish/Judaic theology) it will happen. I guess only time will tell which view is the correct but I want to add that the Christian view is the safer one because either way it is a win win situation for us Christians. If Tovia Singer is correct we will NOT suffer any persecution and any harm nor will the Israelite . if we are correct and according to OUR theology (PRE-TRIBUALTION) we will be rapture and no harm will come to us either but things are not going to be pretty for those Jews living in Jerusalem on that day.Simple logic, either way we Christians win. One of the problems with Christianity is that most Christian Sunday sermons are either solely about the New Testament or are Joel Osteen style sermons that have very little to do with either the New or Old Testament. Most of Joel Osteen’s sermons resemble improved motivational speaker Tony Robbins type lectures on how to be successful in life. Deuteronomy 4:2 basically says not to substitute other Joel Osteen type material for the Old Testament that supports Christianity’s adulterous, idolatrous worship of idols, money & financial success. The reason the Old Testament is so important is that the Old Testament is more or less a history book of the human race. And if you don’t learn from history, you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes you have made in the past. The main problem with the New Testament is that in terms of a history book, it only goes back to the time of JC. The New Testament just doesn’t cover a very long time period. The Old Testament goes back to creation of the universe and covers a much larger time frame. -

Hi Tovia! i know this it little bit off topic, but i have been thinking about converting to judaism. I was born into christian family and i havent really ever feel any connection to the religion and i have studied it. I already follow the noahide laws and i am aware that converting is not a easy process, but i kinda feel that learning the language (hebrew) would be 100x harder then following the Orthodox Jewish beliefs. I have done free mensa iq test (3) times and got 106, 100, 104 iq score so i would say my iq is about 100 if the free test is any accurate it is prob just a scam to make people do the real test. Ive also read about brain plasticity which basically means that you generate new brain cells so maybe i have hope. Idk if i would even make friends in the community which would help me a lot in learning hebrew and the reason is because i have been bullied in school and for me its really hard to trust in people. What does Judaism say about "demonic posession"? Or "demons". I feel like ive encountered them and many people I know who have done occult practices to invoke other "gods" have had demonic experiences. I know in the story about Saul it says an evil spirit from god came and posessed him.
There are no demons, God can tempt people I suppose but people can make weird stuff happen to themselves if they have faith in said whatever. There were times I was scared to even breath in fear of what my religion taught me. I developed OCD and scrupulosity with confessing to priests. I never felt forgiven of anything. Then one day it all started to click.
Many of us have studied ourselves out of Christianity. If we are to believe anything it would be the Hebrew scriptures.
I'm still traumatized from 25 plus years in Christianity. Time totally wasted.

@Abraham Mani did you read Numbers 23-19? That is not Jesus but the God the most high creator of heaven and earth. Jesus is a man and therefore not God and not even the messiah because he didn't fulfill what Prophet Isaiah has prophecied from the almighty Hashem.

Grew up with Christian beliefs, but in my late teens, I began to read the Bible for myself, and from that point on, began a progressive journey of seeing many unanswerable problems, contradictions, odd teachings of every single denomination I became a part of, blatant arrogance of Paul, etc. A few years ago I began to do a deeper study determined to finally do a reading of the "Old Testament.all the way through to the "new"" What was easy to see was that there is no such thing as an Old Testament, in the sense of the way Christianity uses the label. Additionally, all the stuff like a rebelling angel didn't make sense. Anyway, God led me to see it is all stuff that happened to some Jews after Babylon, and due to the Greek and Roman world of the New Testament. Love this man. He nails it every time.

It truly is remarkable that Revelation, rejected by the Eastern Church as not representative of Christian ideals and subsequently relegated to an appendix by Martin Luther along with the Apocrypha, should become so central to modern evangelical Protestant Christianity.

You're quoting a bible that to me is as kosher as the Talmud and Rabinical writting are to you. The true bible or the Tanak which is the OT to you, doesn't say that there is an eternal hell. It doesn't say a man will die for our sins or even can die for our sins. As a matter of fact it says no man can die for our sins Psalm 49:7, Duet 24:16, Ezekiel 18:1-30, Jeremiah 31:30. All the jobs, prophecies and qualifications of the Messiah, the Tanak tells us, J failed at every single one of them. The Tanak tells us that we don't need anyone to have a beautiful relationship with G-d. We can do it all by ourselves. I'll go by the Tanak and not by the NT. So unless you can prove to me that the Tanak says we need J then I'll go by the Tanak and it's true message. That message so clearly says J is a false G-d, false Messiah and false prophet. Since it gives no hint of any new bible to come I reject the NT and all other bibles.

This is probably the greatest podcast yet on this channel. It is full of rich explanation and wisdom using Tanakh when discussing what Jews mean by eschatology and what Christians mean by eschatology. Thank you Rabbi Singer. I even learned today how we as the Jewish people view Satan. It is quite different from the Christian narrative of Satan. Although, I did like your comparison of dualistic thinking between Christianity and Zoroastrianism, Christianity does not see Satan as a god. Satan in the Christian narrative was the arch angel of God. And do to His vanity he thought he could replace God and thus was cast down with a third of the angels that followed him in his days of glory. We could go into why Christians think such. Anyhow, I just wanted to point that out.
I loved how you explained how much Greek ideology filtered or permeated into Christianity, especially by the end of the 1st and second centuries C.E. And by the time of the gospel of John or Paul's epistles in the late first century, Greek ideology started to take root and became somewhat subliminal years later.

Thank you so much for your viewpoint Rabbi! I had long known that, as Satan, if he even exists, was an angel of G-d therefore had no free will of his own but only did as Hashem commanded therefore no rebellion in heaven or anything else. . You are the first Rabbi I’ve heard that has backed me up!
Things pulled me out when I got ahold of Greek and translated. Like when Jesus said I and my father are one in John, the Greek translates as I and my father work as one. Not that they are one and the same. I also noticed parts where it says the I Am as Greek meaning god, but in parts Jesus states I am, it used different words like a state of being, like I am hungry type of I am. I couldn’t trust anything I was reading after that. If they mistranslated or changed to to be more christological, I was done. On top of that misquoting “OT” or changing the meaning, was just more fingerprints of the crime to me. Then you have different “translations” that also force each denominations theology in the way it is written. Especially study bibles. Drove me crazy until I finally saw the truth. I’m done with them. Torah is the truth. They shouldn’t even be allowed to slap their bible onto Torah. Total contradiction and replacement texts. They want Jesus? Keep that NT to yourselves.

King Solomon if you read the sages commentary it tells you that G-d was already there talking to him. The three men where the angels. One was there to heal him, one was there to announce Sarah was to give birth and the other was there to demolish sedom and gemora.

There are those who believe that there will come a deceiver who will rule with an iron hand and will seat in the 3rd (future) Jewish temple and demand to be worshiped.While there are others like Rabbi Tovia Singer who don't believe (according to their Jewish/Judaic theology) it will happen. I guess only time will tell which view is the correct but I want to add that the Christian view is the safer one because either way it is a win win situation for us Christians.
If Tovia Singer is correct we will NOT suffer any persecution and any harm nor will the Israelite .
if we are correct and according to OUR theology (PRE-TRIBUALTION) we will be rapture and no harm will come to us either but things are not going to be pretty for those Jews living in Jerusalem on that day.Simple logic, either way we Christians win.

One of the problems with Christianity is that most Christian Sunday sermons are either solely about the New Testament or are Joel Osteen style sermons that have very little to do with either the New or Old Testament. Most of Joel Osteen’s sermons resemble improved motivational speaker Tony Robbins type lectures on how to be successful in life.
Deuteronomy 4:2 basically says not to substitute other Joel Osteen type material for the Old Testament that supports Christianity’s adulterous, idolatrous worship of idols, money & financial success.
The reason the Old Testament is so important is that the Old Testament is more or less a history book of the human race. And if you don’t learn from history, you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes you have made in the past. The main problem with the New Testament is that in terms of a history book, it only goes back to the time of JC. The New Testament just doesn’t cover a very long time period. The Old Testament goes back to creation of the universe and covers a much larger time frame. -

Hi Tovia! i know this it little bit off topic, but i have been thinking about converting to judaism. I was born into christian family and i havent really ever feel any connection to the religion and i have studied it. I already follow the noahide laws and i am aware that converting is not a easy process, but i kinda feel that learning the language (hebrew) would be 100x harder then following the Orthodox Jewish beliefs.
I have done free mensa iq test (3) times and got 106, 100, 104 iq score so i would say my iq is about 100 if the free test is any accurate it is prob just a scam to make people do the real test. Ive also read about brain plasticity which basically means that you generate new brain cells so maybe i have hope. Idk if i would even make friends in the community which would help me a lot in learning hebrew and the reason is because i have been bullied in school and for me its really hard to trust in people.

What does Judaism say about "demonic posession"? Or "demons". I feel like ive encountered them and many people I know who have done occult practices to invoke other "gods" have had demonic experiences. I know in the story about Saul it says an evil spirit from god came and posessed him.
Serving demons is idol worship.
There are no demons, God can tempt people I suppose but people can make weird stuff happen to themselves if they have faith in said whatever. There is some kind of power given to us to see visions or even perform magic or miracles. As it's been done before by some that oppose God. Can be a strange world for some.
