JJ35778 Well you can’t say it’s better just because it’s closer to Alderney, Sark and Herm. Jersey has a lot more history, beautiful coasts etc. But both islands are beautiful and you can’t say which one is better.

Our family absolutely love Guernsey. The island is beautiful and St Peters Port is lovely. The island was so floral in summer when we visited. We ended up buying some Guernsey flowers online when we got back home from Guernsey Flowers by Post - some very beautiful Freesias that reminded us of the island. We will be going again this year!!! Brilliant island.
My family (LeLaCheur) originated from this island before settling in Prince Edward Island around 1800 and then the United States. I'd love to visit someday!

I was stationed in Germany for three years in the late 70's and visited England 4 times crossing the English Channel. Didn't even know this island existed. I love reading about history and had I known then this island existed I would have visited it.

As a one-time uk based yachtie, I have sailed many times to Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney. I think Guernsey and Jersey have very different atmospheres from each other and both are equally delightful.
Alderney, on the other hand is where I'd go to find peace and solitude to recharge the batteries.

Got some pronunciation fixes because whoever read this used English pronunciation for some French derived words and vice versa, and tried to used French pronunciation on Guernesiais words.
Cornet - Should be cor-nett not cor-nay
Hauteville - hoat (like coat)- vill, not hawt-vill
Petit Bot - Bow not Bot
Castel - Kah-tell not Cass-tell
Saumerez - Sum-ah-ray not so-ma-ree

cindy mae depending on what you are referring to. Things are pretty cheap because we don’t have VAT. But houses are super expensive.
cindy mae we have one hospital, the PEH. Food isn’t that costly. If you are looking for housing prices, have a like at the open market listings on a site called Swoffers, they are Guernsey’s largest estate agent.

I have been in Guernsey with my family we came there by a cruise ship a few years ago in summer.Everything was so beatiful and the castle was pretty fine ... At the end of our time there i was feeding pigeons peacefully then a boy around my age(teen) showed up with his skateboard (his hair was blonde and his eyes were blue or green i guess because i didnt look his face directly)as he passing me he said "Hi" and winked at me?XD And he sat down of the opposite bench with (his friends?)And he didn't stop staring at me.. I wasn't expecting such a thing like this xDD ı was really suprised as a foreign girl lol...
At that moment i be like in inside 😳 wut the- and my dad who saw that scene was like 👁️👄👁️
(I wonder what is he doing now also i am curious of if i go Guernsey again would he remember me 😹🙈)
