2009 DODGE CARAVAN P1745: TRANSMISSION PRESSURE TOO HIGH FOR TOO LONG.

Finding the p1745 code issue on a dodge caravan. Sorry, I said that this is a 62te transmission (six speed) when it is not! Vehicle has 4-speed automatic transmission.

A couple of things: 1. Your description says this is a 4-speed auto. This is actually a 62TE a 6-speed trans. 2. the P1745 code is an information-only code letting the user know that line pressure has been too high for too long, but it doesn't say why or how. Clearing the code and having it come back does not necessarily mean it's a bad computer. To clear this code on a Chrysler you have to clear the VLP counters (variable line pressure) using an OEM scanner else it will not clear and will come back, you still have to identify the source of the high line pressure. By you just replacing the computer you simply just "reset" the VLP by replacing with a computer with a counter at zero or under 10000 counts of high line pressure.

Hey Dan, you seem to know what you're talking about so maybe you could help. I have the 42te. We have JScan which is keyed to a specific VIN, it lets you do most oem functions including resetting the VLP counters. When reverse went out, we tried a solonied pack but that wasn't it so we put in a junkyard trans. We put in a new pack, we replaced both the internal pressure governors, we replaced the computer. p1745 comes in as saying high to long after 1000 shifts from 2-3 . We can fully reset this by resseting the counters and clearing the codes. But the one that comes back right away is p0935 . It will clear, but it will be set as soon as it shifts. Should we persure the wireharness angle or should we look elsewhere? If we need to check the wire, what's the right pin to check on the computer for the 42te?

We put this transmission in recently, it is not new, but it is throwing this code. Every transmission mechanic is saying 2000 or 3500 to rebuild it

Great video my friend..I never had much luck trying to reseal those 41TE solenoid packs with the gaskets,. But trying the overlay wire first was a great idea. Glad it worked out..lol, the computer trans connectors was always dedicated to the last green slot of the controllers.. In fact if you see 1 that has no connector in that slot, its usually a stick trans or a NAG trans..Good stuff
