Thanks for going out there and filming Taaibos Pt1 & Pt2. I grow up there up to the age of 13 iesh that would be 1981when we moved to Sasolburg T & H power station were starting to wind down my dad had already started to work at the new Lethabo power station. Taaibos Post Office back then was still PT (Post and Telephone ) So it was our Post Office and the telephone switchboard . If you had a phone at your house you had ring the switchboard give them the number and they would put you through . Our telephone number was 170. I was told the Chinese had bought all the old power stations ( Vaal, Henley on Klip, Vierfontien and the T& H power station) strip everything and rebuilt them in China as they booming to fast and did not have enough power at that time...

Hi John, wow what an awesome comment! Thanks for sharing your connection and history with this place!
I am glad that we could explore and share what is left of this once proud community. It was sad to see the ruins, but also quite the adventure to finally make it into the power station's compound.
Thanks for watching and commenting, we really appreciate it! God bless!!

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment Milka-Marie, and also for sharing your memories of this place. We appreciate your support, it means a lot. That is why we do this, to document places that will be forgotten in history, if nobody makes an effort to document at least some small part of it. Stay safe, and God bless!! 😉🙏

Jip, we had to split the Highveld and Taaibos Powerplant explorations into 3x episodes. By the time we finally reached the office block we were very exhausted, but so glad we carried on going 😎

Thanks so much for watching, I really appreciate your support. Your channel also inspires me to carry on with documenting these abandoned places before they are all completely forgotten.
My Jeep Wrangler get us places that would otherwise be quite difficult to reach 😅 . Dozer is my pride and joy.

@@TheRogueUrbex I drove four wheel drive cars for the past 16 years, but now I am driving a front wheel drive, this is quite a difference, even on dry tarmac I can feel the difference!

Looks dangerous. Please take care of you!

Thanks for the concern 🙏🏻 . What we do is inherently dangerous. On this explore, it was especially dangerous since we entered government property, although abandoned, it is closed to the public. We used the Jeep to 4x4 through trenches meant to keep the public out. Inside the massive compound, we found cable thieves (known locally as Zama-Zamas), but luckily, they kept their distance. Although not our most popular episode, it was one of our biggest adventures. Thanks for watching as always. You are appreciated 🙏🏻 😊
