  • AT205 . . . can it hold up to suspension pieces getting squeaky? I know that all the tricks and other sprays I've tried is more for quiet for a moment, a way of diagnosing a squeak, not really fixing anything.
AT205 has been used for many a gasket or seal which needed a little help not to leak, in hydraulics, engines, and transmission, not for inside the brake system! ATP, the maker of AT205, says that if it doesn't help with a leak in the first 5 hours of operation to see a qualified mechanic for a full repair.

Check out the thumbnail. Beautiful, allow rims! In the video, those are just the winter wheels! The owner is pretty handy and he's going to paint the winter wheels. 👍🧡 I'm loving on good car owners right now. 😁

Thanks for the video , but lubricating, stut mounting dust cover will not help much.

Prevents it from going bad. On this Alpha Romeo there is rubber between every part on the knuckle. Owner didn't want to replace it he told me, then he replaced way more at way higher cost with someone else. Replacing brakes which didn't need replacing. ...
Squeak squeak. He needed new knuckles.
All those parts on other cars are solid steal, not this car. Super weird.

It's the upper control arm bushes that make the squeak. From the factory they have a synthetic grease on them. I use AT205 as well but I don't think it will get rid of the squeak, well not for long. You need to remove the bushes and apply synthetic grease, as the bushes are 2 part and move in the control arms.

      I hear you.
This car's front end? Everything was loose and he was just in Germany for part of a year so replacing it all didn't make sense to him.
Nothing was about to break or be unsafe but be creaky and old? For sure.

He already sold it. It doesn't squeak in the summer. She's probably squeaking and worrying away now.

@@DENicholsAutoBravado I had a 147 in Ireland. The control arms are less than $100. I have a 156 now with squeaky upper arms that I paid a high priced suspension shop to fit. They never greased the bushes and after 3 days they started to squeak. I'm going to have to do it myself. It's best to take Alfa's to someone that knows the cars imo.

Ya really needed to take us for a ride before you worked on it so we could hear the squeaks.
    Happy Motoring.

Oh. I know I messed that up. Could you hear the squeak afterwards?
I know it's an excuse, but this car is very hard to drive. I edited out how much I looked down to shift gears since it looks like distracted driving, but the gear box is super tight.
I'm sure it gets easier with time, but the owner after several months still really has to concentrate to not mix up 3rd and 5th.
Super tight and close gears....buy hey! 6 gears on a nearly 20 year old car? Fancy! I guess they made it tight to have the space for the extra gear?
I was super surprised the squeak was in the after. I was sure it wouldn't be hearable on camera before AT205, but I was wrong. Very subtle squeak.
The shop I was going to was about to close. Sorry...las excuse

Good suggestion to make rubber bushings and seals to last a little longer and save a little money. That engine tag will give the part dealer the Make, Model, & Year for a vehicle. Car parts can vary from year to year and part manufacturers. @flyerstone

It gives a couple codes which help with ordering parts without the use of the make model and year. In Europe, the often make the same car with many different horse powers. You can have the make, model, year, engine size, and still not get the right part because you didn't have the horse power.

It's a trick I've been wanting to try for a long time. He has a lot of items with a little play which aren't common because this weird Alfa Romeo has many more parts with rubber bushings which most cars are solid steel or perhaps thick aluminum.
Very different car meant to feel smooth.

When you want to save some money, it looks like that product did a great job. I’m sure your customer is happy with the results. Maybe, I missed it, but was curious why you’re in Germany. Be sure to stay safe. 😀👍

This is like a few years ago when a Surgical Tech. contract position landed at my feet. I won't be gone too long.
Yes...in his case, everything under his car, which has rubber, and supports the suspension could be replaced. It's all lose, and too many variables for a simple fix. In case like this, the customer is all in or a wise mechanic will refuse to work on it. So many worn parts that if you don't replace them all, you'll have an upset customer regardless if it was explained with some people.
This is a perfect in-between solution...especially when he, like me, is only temporarily here.
