  • On this episode of Garden Home host, P. Allen Smith, will discuss planting radiant roses. In this episode Allen visits Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, where he discusses antique roses and shrub roses. Allen then comes back to Arkansas to show off the new rose garden at the Garden Home Retreat. He also tells us how to problem-solve when your roses aren't blooming and how to plant roses in containers. We also visit a garden in Oregon with outstanding shrub roses.

    I have found in my younger years, that Roses are easy to grow, once you know all the little tricks to maintaining them.🌹

    We get alot of rain here so roses can get tore up my julia child does ok but the others need extra care i learned 1 thing dont heavily mulch roses! i love black mulching everything but some plants dont like it the pin cushion is blooming again it had dandelions in it and we dug it up and replanted it ✌

    I really am inspired by you beautiful hidden rose garden. We don't have a major rose garden, but have several areas that have rose groups around our gardens. This fall my hubby will try his hand at grafting some. Wish us luck. Hope to see you at MOSS MOUNTAIN next year!

    ✍🏻 I wonder what you would do with my front yard headache. 1908 two story ....The yard is surrounded by mature vegetation, it’s beautiful, but right before you hit the steps , on both sides , UGLY.
