    Great video! Question, did you have difficulties connecting your phone
    app to the drone the first time? It keeps saying unable to join. So I’ve
    been just connecting the beacon first, then connecting the phone to the
    beacon. It keeps saying password is wrong every time. But I’ve checked
    over and over

      Once I got a phone with the USB-C port and a better processor, (a Samsung 20FE), I had no issues. In re: your issue with the password, have you tried scanning the QR code in the underside battery compartment of the Skydio aircraft?

    I was having probs with the WiFi connection too. I just posted a 45 second fix that resolved it on my YT. Basically just had to do a master reset to reset the the WiFi.

      Glad you found a fix! As an FYI, I have also had batteries that fail to fully charge when on the charger - the fix to this is to charge them up directly while placed into the aircraft. Then the batteries are good again.

    Hi Ed, I just got an email from Skydio that said my drone is being assembled and I will be able to purchase it in the coming week. I can hardly wait but I'll console myself by flying my DJI Mini 2. I believe the controller comes with an iOS cable which will work fine with my iPhone 11 Pro Max, unless you know differently.
    Thanks for you videos. I enjoy them all and best wishes.

      I hope to post more videos. But, the weather here in Oregon has been wet and cold. As good as it is, the Skydio 2 does not fly in rain. 😏
      I think you'll find the Skydio 2 to have superior build quality to the Mini 2. The camera on the Skydio 2 has 4k capability at 60 fps, same as my Autel EVO 1. But, the image output of the Skydio 2 is, for whatever reason, far superior.
      The Skydio 2 is over 250 grams. So, it should be registered. Costs $5 with the FAA. Easy to do. See: faadronezone.faa.gov/#/

    The cables are not proprietary. I have used the same controller with an old USB B Moto phone and a newer USB B Samsung tablet, as well with a USB C newer Samsung phone. It may have been that your particular Samsung phone wasn't compatible.

    • @edruttledge342
      @edruttledge342  Před 2 lety +1

      You are correct. The issue was the phone. The older Samsung did not have the processing capability to facilitate the Skydio system. The Samsung 20FE has worked well with the Skydio platform. As an FYI - my Autel EVO 1 (referenced in this video) has since crashed while performing a lost signal/auto RTH maneuver. I now have two Skydio aircraft - a Skydio 2 and the Skydio 2+. The Skydio system has its idiosyncrasies, but is an overall solid performing and crashless product. Drone on!

    There is also a USB-C to Thunderbolt cable for IOS users.

    I am sure that you are a nice guy and I appreciate that you are trying to help people but please get to the point. It took you more than 4 minutes to layout the problem that you solved. Unfortunately for me, this is not the same problem that I am having. It would be helpful if you started your video explaining the problem that you solved. Your life history with drones was completely useless information.

      @edruttledge342  Před rokem

      I don't think I can help with the problem you're having. Why not post a video about your problem and see if anyone has a more direct solution? Just a thought. Be well.

      It is not a perfect device (this is my 6th UAS). And, it takes some ramp-up to figure it out. But, it is also capable of some pretty incredible stuff. Go to this link and scroll ahead to 08:43 in the video:
