These comments praising _Cobra_ make me wonder which masala film was released in January/February 2004 so as to snatch film-goers from _Kangalal Kaidhu Sei._ There are folks praising KKS too, despite the fact that it did not last for even a week.
"Tharangani" opening/refrain is quite closely composed in the same template as "Theekuruvi". Both songs are composed by ARR. That's why I mentioned KKS.

@Tuxedo Productions By masala films, I'm referring to films like _Vikram_ (Kamal Hasan film), _Beast, Valimai,_ etc. Even in the 2k's there were such kinda films and they were capable of sabotaging good movies.
What I felt was that if _Kangalal Kaidhu Sei_ was a good movie despite becoming a terrible flop during its release in 2004, then competition too could've played some kinda role in the film's failure.
