Oh god, the singer just has a venomous stage presence. I saw them at soundwave a few weeks back and they absolutely killed it

Yeah it's crazy how far he came with his cleans after a year or two, shows a lot of talent on the production teams end for the records they'd put out at that point, because the studio versions sounded incredible

Before I thought they were heavy, then I listen to this.. woah o-o Danny also really stepped up his vocals live, he sounds amazing now. The Bass and drums was also fucking brutal as hell in this.. so fucking good.. I've never been so stoked in my life to get an album, Reckless and Relentless is going to be probably the best in my collection for quite a while.. can't wait

Danny's voice is actually really good live when he's sober.In Orlando he told the crowd that he was cleaning up before shows,and he sounded identical to the CD.Hope he puts out the effort for Warped.

oh yeah man i totally agree! he sounds amazing now. im actually going to see them on outbreak. what im talking about was a specific performance that they did in south america about a month ago and it was televised. someone recorded it and all danny does is walk around stage and sing a little and lets the crowd shout the rest of the songs. whenever danny does scream/sing it sounds really good though. he just didn't do a lot of it. i tried putting the link in this comment but youtube wont let me.

he didn't have a mic piece at the time idk what they are called, but he couldn't hear himself sing that's why

nah, it's nothing to do with not being able to hear yourself, a lot of singing becomes muscle memory, its why when singers hear a key played on a keyboard they can instantly bring their voice up to the same pitch without having to climb the ladder to the note or if they are told to sing a certain key, like a C5 they instantly hit it from muscle memory, and its a practicing method to perfect your singing. his voice cracking is simply due to bad technique, and i know that for a fact. i made a vocal cover yesterday watch it if you like, but the reason i don't sing well in it is because my technique was bad while making the video, sometimes in the moment, you just forget the feeling and strain your voice which makes it crack, and you know you could of hit the note easily with a minor adjustment to your technique... same as Danny and any other vocalist out there and also singing and screaming prior wore out my vocals, just use it as an example to how some vocalists occasionally sound bad live, not all the time, just sometimes. it's normal to make mistakes like these, some days you perform good, some days bad, i could of redone the cover a few times until i got the perfect one but i like to show the first take, and raw sound from the camera/mic. that's how i sounded that day, it sucked but oh well. perhaps a bit more rehearsing and warming up will improve my next covers, and maybe next time i wont scream and shit for like 40+ minutes before making the video, but that;s what happens in live shows, so by the end of it you're not at your best. don't think i am bashing danny or anything, no one is perfect, we all have our good days and bad days, and that goes for our singing too haha.

@Thrallpwn Terrible camera my ass. Yeah, I'll admit that the audio is slightly "bassy" but the camera and microphone setup cost around $1000, a far cry from what you're saying.
In my experience with the band, Danny has his ups and downs, I think alot of the shit people are talking about his performance is only because these guys were into some heavy drinking.
I heard at some of these recent shows that they announced that they are clean now, and that's a good thing.

and an EP called Life Gone Wild.

Danny was not using in ear monitors at the time. When I interviewed Ben in March 2011 he said that they just got them, and even then Danny was the last person to get them. He does the same thing at that show in St. Louis I filmed (same place as interview), he can't hear himself.
