- Debabrata Biswas is one of the most well known Rabindra Sangeet singers of all times. His renditions of Tagore Songs are still chart busters and most listened and loved by all. Debabrata Biswas was born in the year 1911 in Barishal which is now a part of Bangladesh. This was the time when King George V was visiting India. Thus his parents nicknamed him George. He was popularly known as George Biswas or George da.
Debabrata Biswas' early renditions of Tagore Songs show a more robust full bodied emotionally rich content that strictly followed the rules and norms of Rabindra Sangeet tradition. Some how from the late sixties Debabrata Biswas started changing his singing style and started introducing unconventional arrangements for his renditions of Tagore Songs. Rabindra Sangeet has always been the kingpin amongst all kinds of Bengali Songs. Thus the sudden experimentation with Tagore Songs were not accepted peacefully by the authorities. Debabrata Biswas was constantly questioned and was accused of tampering with the works of Tagore. But that did not stop George Biswas from expressing his emotions freely. He challenged the sensibilities of Tagore song listeners with the use of the Spanish guitar, the saxophone,the clarinet, the piano and the cello along with the sitar, the Sarod, the Esraj and the violin; and all this in the name of 'interpretation' and 'freedom of expression'. His popularity swelled beyond bounds with the masses, young and old - connoisseurs and dilettante alike for, despite these excesses, the power and intrinsic purity of style and spirit of his renditions were unparalleled.
This album “ Best Of Debabrata Biswas Vol-3” is a compilation of some of these immensely popular Tagore Songs rendered by the maestro. Songs like Prano Bhariye Trisha Hariye, Amar Raat Pohaalo and Anek Diner Amar are still a raging melancholy in every Bengali heart. This is a classic to be savored and cherished forever.

যখন ই মনে হয় জর্জদা নেই তখন ই তার গান শুনি আর মনে হয় "এসে ছিলে তবু আসো নাই,জানায়ে গেলে"।
জীবনের পথে চলতে চলতে যখন কোন কোন বাঁকে ভারাক্রান্ত হৃদয়ে এসে দাঁড়াই ,
