You have to spend your own time.
So basic but so essential. We can get so wrapped up in client hours and life that we don’t put as much “outside” time in as needed to truly master the technical and differentiate ourselves. I needed this nudge. Thank you.

Chanced upon the podcast and I was looking for BEPs stuff. It’s really refreshing to hear an authentic interview from a tax professional. Agree with all his points and also importantly the fact that someone took the time to understand his work and mentor him was absolutely critical to his growth as a professional. As an Asian migrant woman working in a predominantly male and white profession in Australia, I often felt overlooked and shut out of international tax work. Fortuitously I found my way back having the right opportunity and right mentor. Thank you Ugo for sharing your journey. Good work never goes unnoticed. Bless!

Thank you so much for this episode. I am a big fan of this podcast series.
It’s like Ugo was describing how I ended up as a Tax lawyer. His journey, specifically his awakening on wanting to work on trend setting deals was the same journey that led me to Tax law.
This episode is opportune as I am joining PWC Deals Tax (M&A and International Tax) unit in my country in February 2022 as a Senior Associate. Great nuggets on career from you and Ugo.
    Happy New Year Doug.
