Andreo, very cinematic images. I see that you’ve acquitted well to this focal length. There’s something about a challenge that forces us to come up with a different solution than what we’re familiar with. Scribed ✌🏼
@@AndreoPhoto it’s spam. I’ve been seeing these two comments on a lot of Fuji vids. Anyway, nice vid, I appreciated it - on the fence about the 16mm 2.8. Thinking I’m gonna get it
I really love the colours in your photos in the first 40 seconds of the video. I stopped watching to write this but can you tell me if these photos are processed or straight out of the camera? I will look at your channel but what fuji camera can you recommend?
Hi Andreo, thanks for this review! It's a great lens. AF lack may exist in using continious mode while focusing on a non moving or static objekt. In single mode i don't have this experience. Keep on! Regards, Tom.
Hi thomas. Thanks for the input! Interesting point re: continuous mode and static object. I would hvae thought that the continuous mode was purpose built for quickly focusing on moving objects. But i will experiment with continuous mode on both static and moving. Thanks again for the input, it really helps get other peoples perspective. Cheers!
Great shots! I like how you play with the ambient lighting. I have a 14mm f2.8, but wanted to try the 16mm. For me, long lenses are good if the subject focuses on people and you want to get candid shots. Indeed for wide shots, layering creates great impact to your shots. How about a review of 23mm? I have a 35mm too but feels tight for me.
Thank you! Ive always wanted to try the 14mm! The 21mm equivalent is very intriguing. Agree with what you said. Long lenses = subj isolation and wide lenses = environmental shots! Will try to do a 23mm vs 35mm review in the future :) even tho i have one, i've actually never used the 23mm on my xpro2. Ive always used the 23mm om my x100F lol
Well, did you buy it? Nice review of a lens I am considering, but I do have the 23mm f2, 35mm FF equivalent, for mostly street photography. But I’m thinking the 16mm will give me some nice distortion if doing close up of people.
Actually I did end up buying it lol yes, the 16mm has some minor distortion. I've experimented taking some portraits of people with it and its not really my cup of tea. I'd use my 56mm f1.2 for close ups of people, but even the 23mm would do better imho
@@AndreoPhoto Wow that's super good. I'm stalking ebay now, will wait for some good prices. E-mount has a lot more affordable options. Some Fuji lenses in my opinion are too overpriced, worse than Sony G or G-Master.

Hey! I'm a new subscriber, I really like your content and I wish you to have more views! I'm really interested in this lens. I actually own the 16mm 1.4 but find it too bulky. I always think twice before taking it... I'm looking for a compact alternative but doubt about the f2.8...what ajouter low light situations? Thanks!
hi there! thanks for subscribing! hmm thats a tough question! i think the 16mm f2.8 is one of the most compact wide angle fuji lenses out there as of the moment. the new 18mm f1.4 is roughly the same size as your 16m f1.4 i think. what are you looking for with regards to the replacement of you 16mm f1.4?
@@AndreoPhoto I'm looking for a compact wide angle lens that I can carry everywhere for street photography. But sometimes I like to shoot during night or interior scenes for documentary project.... I'm hesitating between this 16mm 2.8 and the 18mm f2 that both have advantages and cons...
@@scopicdrive3942 oh i see. honestly i havent tried the 18mm f2 yet. But the 16mm is really compact. @@AndreoPhoto ok thanks it think I'm gonna try both. F2 is 2 times brighter than f2.8 which could be great for low light situations. I wish they made an mk2 version with WR and better AF. Cheers

But this lens is not meant for street photography per say. Its more for landscape and architectural shots, street photography is usable depending on the surrounding and kind of photo you want.
I like my 16mm f/2.8 Thanks for the video.
Bro love your video, post more.qnd love fuji
Thank you bro will do!
Nice review and shots bro! I'm considering this lens as well :)
Thanks bro! Its a very interesting lens. I think youll enjoy it
Well made review bro! Good practical applications! No need for charts and brick wall shots 😆
Haha thanks pre. Its hard to do the charts 🤣 maybe in the future

Nice video and review. Im considering this lens also specially for travel. What camera are you using for video? Has nice quality
Thanks very much! Im sure it will be great for travel. Its super compact. Am using a GoPro 9 for video :)
Great points about the focal length - I find 16mm (24mm equiv) challenging myself. But I think you nailed it - I really love your photos!
Thanks for the kind words! Are you using a fuji 16mm too? So quirky but unique! Am discovering its been great for doing videos as well!

Thanks a lot! Comments like these make my day!
Generally, what aperture do you use when doing street photography with the 16 f2.8?
I always try to stick to f5.6 or f8. But sometimes i step down to f2.8
Why was you complaining you was in the perfect place with so much beautiful colours to choose from.
Haha not exactly sure what i was complaining about to be honest 😅 i love my city

You and i are in the same boat! Itching to get the 50mm as well. Cheers!
Considering this lens too, but I wish it was cheaper. Not fair that E-mount has Sigma 16mm f/1.4 for the same price.
No way didnt know sony has a 16mm 1.4 for the same price. Ended up buying this lens second hand foe less than half the price lol

Any lens can be used for street photography. The degree on ease of use varies per lens and is subjective.
