I just finished Funny Story yesterday and I loved it!! Previously my favorite by her had always been Beach Read, but Funny Story is up there now too!
How funny, I’m a Beach Read girly too!! Any other recs for books that I might enjoy? 👀
@@searchingforsamantha That moment of panic when someone asks for a book recommendation and your brain cannot think of a single book that you have read ever. 🤣 I really liked Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez, but it sounds like you've already read that one. If you like YA, I really liked More Than You Can Tell by Brigid Kemmerer.
Hahaha I know that feeling very well 😂 I have indeed read Abby Jimenez’s books! But I’ve not heard of the other one, so will definitely check it out!
@@searchingforsamantha I hope you enjoy it if you do read it!
Awesome, I'll be on the lookout to get it.
Preorder should be live soon if not already 🥰
Brilliant video😊
Thank you!! 🙏
I've been wanting to give Emily Henry a try for a while now. I love romance but typically enjoy historical romance more than contemporary. But I added Emily Henry to my list at my sister's recommendation, and she's been bumped up further by your review. I'll probably read some of her back catalogue while I wait for the paperback version of Funny Story to come out. Any suggestions on the best one to start with?
Omg I’m so excited by this!! Part of me is trying to think of which one would be most appealing for a lover of historical fiction, but honestly none of them are very much like that. My personal favourite is Beach Read, but I think that’s an unpopular opinion. Her most recent one Happy Place was pretty well received, so I think you could start there maybe? It’s different than the others because it’s a second chance romance, so people who used to date. Which means there’s a lot more baggage between the two of them that needs to be worked through.
@@searchingforsamantha Yay, thank you for the recommendation! I can do second chance romance as long as the reason for things not working out the first time makes sense to me. It can be fun to see the changes the characters go through as they try to understand the other's point of view and reconcile. I'll let you know what I think when I get to it!
Interesting! I’m the same, and I was ok with Happy Place, but fair warning, not everyone was.
Will your book coming out in August be available on Audible?
Yes!! I got to fill out the brief for my narrators recently which was so exciting 😭
I loved " Just for the Summer" by Abby Jimenez....I gave it 5 stars! Sorry it wasn't for you.
I think a lot of people felt that way! Tbh some of the things that bothered me probably wouldn’t have if I’d gotten that 5-star feeling. For example I feel that way about her 3rd book Life’s Too Short, though I acknowledge the reason some people don’t like it as much. So I definitely don’t judge anyone who does love it!
