I love how impartial he is. He doesn’t immediately say in the beginning “yeah this game sucks but here is the lore” even though it’s widely regarded as a bad game. I think it’s charming, but ultimately lackluster.
Just goes to show how patient and awesome of a guy he is.
It definitely has some potential
@@XxUltraHyperxX just not very well played out
@@LanaTheSockPuppeteerthe displeasure with the classic indie game trope "it looks cutesy/childish but its horror!" that's been popular enough to give a struggle to indie game creators that make games that doesn't fall onto that trope, and how games that poorly execute this trope can easily become popular (thus burying other indie games that are good but doesn't use this trope) has a lot of people just frustrated with this game. but its not JUST that: its also the game's page immediately having a "merch" button (something like that) right when the first chapter came out - thus, giving an impression that the game is also mainly for money like Poppy playtime.
though i do believe a lot of hatred towards this game is a *bit* of an outlet due to people feeling like the indie game community is limiting when it comes to better execution and unique ideas, some reasons for not liking the game come from other things. some people don't like the obstacles bc you're forced to use a drone for simple tasks. some people don't really like the graphics.
Cause he's not here to give opinions he's here to tell us what crumbs of lore there is.
I think a lot of people looked over this- the ball pit is missing it is displayed as a ball pit but it’s just a pit what could possibly have happened was children were playing in said ball pit until it was rigged to collapse under all the children hence the sounds of machinery and screams that die out seemingly getting fainter as the tape progressed it may also explain why that one child said his friends were screaming in the pit while he did not get on the pit so he didn’t fall down. It wouldn’t explain the blood on the wall unless the last child was brutally killed after the events of the pit.
Oh yeah ur right never realised that

I actually don’t think the characters are meant to be animatronics, as they don’t seem to contain any mechanical parts on them hinting otherwise. But, they do seem to have a wrinkly texture to them, making me think they could be statues you would find at an art exhibit. Especially the Opilia Bird being hollow, and positioned the way it is, it makes me think it’s just there for decoration, but now the statues are moving somehow (which doesn’t make sense, but this game doesn’t really seem to make sense at all either).
Maybe there's souls in them, making the characters come alive, *spooky* isn't it?

Stop making fun of a free game and the developers are normal people who made a game and they are not a whole team but two people, and that this game is their first horror game. Plus: if you don't like the game then shut up.
@@FatCat_Channel_Official This is, infact, NOT their first horror game. They made one based on Humpty Dumpty that was also pretty bad and never got popular.

I think this game has lots of potential. When you think about it. The only “bad” parts of this game are it’s lackluster design and over obvious inspiration from games like Poppy Playtime. Not saying this game is a masterpiece, but, like I said, it has potential.
No one really understands how hard it is to come up with something original these days.

@@user-gu9yq5sj7c Not only that, but when people DO make something original today, people whine about it being lazy or straight up bad. Wtf do they even want anymore?
I think the game has a lot of potential, it just needs to expand both its story and gameplay. Apart from the secrets, it's really short for a game with multiple parts. It also came out around the same time as Poppy Playtime, so it's got some fierce competition with a similar theme
I don't care if something is similar. Actually, for some people if something is similar they might like them both more cause they might like those genres or tropes. I don't think Poppy and Banban is that alike. Didn't some people say Poppy was kinda cliche or generic too at first? Now people are starting to like Poppy. @@e.l.studios455what games? And btw Garten of Banban has a completely different story compared to Poppy Playtime except the creatures are also human (also animal) experiments and the monsters are some kind of play dough mutants, but I agree with the comments, it's kinda weird to make merch expensive and release things so fast and the fact that the voice actors are all the same with voice changers
Due to the poor design of the characters, I believed that the story was either the establishment's manager had their child draw a picture of some random, made-up characters, or the manager saw a drawing of the child's, and took inspiration from it since he thought the characters would appeal to anyone who looked at them because they were so simplistic and friendly.
I like some simplistic art and design as well. These characters are also geared towards little kids in the story. Hello Kitty and Pusheen has simple designs but are cute and popular. Adventure Time is simplistic and popular. You can also look up Gumby.

The bird was the only one that scared me, but not in a direct way. More like an atmospheric sort of way. It was the eyes, really beady.
the bird looks like its high
The whole theme of it being a daycare and kindergarteners horror story is a pretty cool idea but if they can fix like the story/lore to make sense, it could def be a cool game. Only thing I really didn’t like I would say is the drone, I would probably change it to one of those wrist return balls and use that to hit the buttons.
The bird gave me chills. The way it didn't immediately charge but seemed to observe the player with a sort of predatory curiosity was genuinely scary.
I'm ngl the bird scares me. It's the eyes
Nice stolen comment
even when some games are short, he still is able to make story explained videos!
I think the Jumbo Josh Easter egg may be a teaser for the next area in part 2. Since it is Jumbo Josh who pulls you into a new area at the end of part 1 it only makes sense they are giving thsoe who put the effort in a tiny tidbit more of a spoiler to the next episode. It seems to indicate it will be a break or party room setting and there will be multiple, different colored and hostile Jumbo Josh characters to avoid. It also seems to indicate your objectives will have something to do with cake. Perhaps the key card to escape or some other important item will be contained within one.
I needed this, I wanted to know more and now, I have it. Thank you mike
This guy has a talent for finding lore in games I wish his channel the the best.
I salute to him for managing to sit through that game to be honest

Did you know that the opila bird didn't actually die? If get on the elevator and you keep looking forward, but then look slightly to the left into the corner. You'll see something small in the distance, zoom in and you will see the opila bird.
the way you narrate is super clean and easy to follow + the song choice is always super nice and fits the tone

I feel like Garten of Banban got way too much hate for what it is. It triggered this intense wave of "new horror games suck" and essays of why GoB specifically is terrible.
But like, it's just a short, silly little experience made by two people. I thought the designs were okay, the bird section was funny and the drone mechanic was interesting. People are treating it worse than a lot of low rated big studio games and it still shocks me, honestly.

The large play area where the Opila bird can be found has that perfectly unsettling liminal vibe and even the bird itself is fairly disturbing. The design is simple, but the way it moves and slowly stalks the player before attacking is extremely creative. I feel like a lot of antagonistic characters in video games tend to charge at the player without hesitation, so I thought that was an interesting add-on. It seems like a lot of people who love similar games hate this one. They're missing out. Regardless of similarities to Poppy Playtime and such, it's still really cool and the story is still interestingeresting.
If I were to give this game a rating, it's a 7 of 10 for me. Some games don't start well but then they make a big comeback into something spectacular. Like Dark Deception for example, it had an okay showing in 2014's demo, but now it's en fuego.
This game is a bit basic, but for a demo chapter it seems alright. Plus, I was REALLY creeped by the atmosphere in this game and for me, I kinda like that this demo's chapter puzzle was easy because it is a common horror trope for something to be too easy and then you get got a second later.
