- This is part 1 of the flash & bang show which occurred on the 16th Jan 2019. Enjoy! Many of the big strikes were missed on camera as generally they fall round the side of the house where I can't film (typical....). Audio best played through your HiFi for better effect.

I thought 2:49 was bad and then 3:02 happened
Also you can actually hear a little zap right before the thunderclap explodes
It sounded like the Roblox game natural disaster survival
We had an epic storm in East Anglia (England) in July 2018. Some of the thunder claps sounded like canon fire. Also during this storm we had what is known as a ‘heat burst’. It was the best and most beautiful storm I’ve experienced in years as we don’t get many in EA.
This is a fabulous video. I’ve got goose bumps listening to that gorgeous thunder. Thanks for sharing. ⚡️🌩

Years ago I worked at a JCPenney here in eastern Pennsylvania. One evening, we had a severe thunderstorm. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in the store wasn't working that great so me and a coworker decided to stand right outside the entrance under an overhang to cool off. VERY BAD IDEA!! We thought we were safe under lightning struck about 300 feet away. It hit a tree which fell and crushed two parked cars in the parking lot. Thankfully, no one was injured. I don't know where my brain was that day. People, please keep in mind, though, that there is no safe place outside (except in a car) during a thunderstorm. Fantastic footage!

I didn’t know this until recently, but positive lightning strikes are the most common type in winter thunderstorms
ah ok. T'Storms are extremely rare here in winter. Only once did we get a T'storm in July (around 2015) & that was at 3am in the morning!

I'm convinced now that increased humidity plays a HUGE role in postive and CG lightning.

Huge lightning strikes, we have that here in Southern, Illinois too. Pretty terrifying at times.
2:49 and 3:02 was a very CLOSE strike to a point you ACTUAL hear an electrical discharge right before the thunder crash. Wow.. what a deadly thunderstorm.

When I was up in Maine in July, there was Thunderstorms to the West and East of us, and they never hit us. So whenever I am out on the dock, I can hear the thunder and watch the lightning strikes in the distance
I was shout out in a bad storm when I was 8 years old by my middle sister I am still scared of it at 58

We experienced a particularly violent thunderstorm some years ago with thunderclaps that sounded like cannon fire. The same storm spawned a tornado that struck the western Minnesota town of Granite Falls, and caused significant damage.

Your microphone is excellent because you can feel the rumble & the explosive noise of thunder 😁👍
The mic on the camera is garbage so I ended up using the Tascam DR-05 recorder's mics & fed that into the camera's audio input. worked a treat

@@dxer22000 Yeah, but even around the house, the brightness of the flash would illuminate the area -- you best believe that because I know. Furthermore, there are various CZcams videos with similar thunder claps, where there's no direct shot of the lightning strike, just its flash causing a heat lightning type effect.
