  • This is our first opportunity to use our new hard coating equipment to spray EPS Styrofoam with Polyurea (same material used to coat bed liners on pickups). After coating these products are now very durable and paint-able. These will be part of a Fiesta Bowl Parade Float.

wouldn't the polyurea normally melt the foam?

any idea if the polyurea comes to be applied by brush?

Sorry, it cures in 10 seconds when part A contacts part B. not possible to hand do it. requires a $25k machine that pressures the chemicals to 2000psi at 165 degrees to then spray out of the gun, then cures after mixing in the nozzle of the gun in less than 10 seconds.

    • @groupimaging

I believe it is a hybrid with polyurethane

Hey what machine are you using to cut the Styrofoam? Thanks

We used a Multicam 3000 from www.multicam.com/ . it was $130k you don't have to spend that much but we got lots of whistles and bells. I think you can get into their machine for $70k if you don't get that add ons we got. I hope that helps. there are cheaper machines designed just for the foam industry that would be specific to foam
