Oh my goodness, I love your videos! Thanks so much for sharing. I too remember when DMC Gold was the holy grail at the craft store. It is delightful that we have so many more options for charts and floss now. Hooray cross stitch!

Hobby Lobby in Lynnwood at 196th and 99 always has all the DMC in stock. The JoAnn catty-cornered from HL is a disaster area. Threads in tangled nests on the shelves, bins empty… we have GOT to be living close together!! I’m in Edmonds!

Elizabeth, I’m totally with you on your backs, such a game for me too…don’t hate it at all 💜 I’m the same way looking at my pattern & figuring out how I’m gonna approach it. So glad I’m not alone 😂 Love the vibe of your flosstube & the 3 of you!
I love watching you guys! It cracks me up because your stitching styles are so different, but I can see my own stitching style in each! I don't always mark off my patterns, and I try and keep my backs neat, but I usually give up and carry (I try to figure out if I would use more or less thread starting and stopping or carrying) and if it can been seen from thr front I will not carry. When I've washed my pieces (with specialty threads and hand dyed fabric, it's not always doable), I use soak (I got it from my local yarn store) because its supposed to be so gentle.

So nice to see you ladies again. You're always fun! I'm also working on the Herb Panel piece and find the one strand makes it harder to have a neat back (I use loop start when I use 2 strands so that is much neater). I think the name is from the fact that Herb means plant, rather than necessarily edible plant. (eg in the Bible it talks about the herbs of the field)
That makes sense with the name! I think the herb panel might be the most difficult thing I’ve ever stitched.
Perhaps if all else fails, reach out to Nathalie at Au Ver a Soie in Paris. Maybe if you give her the shop name on your packet, she may have been the one to do the color match?

I make stockings for most family members and some have divorced and I got the stockings back. I removed the name and put a new name on it. It has to go now to someone born into the family in case there is some bad jui-jui attached to it. And I never told them they were getting a second hand stocking. So I think it's fine to put a name and give away your ex's stocking. Love watching ya'll together .

I only carry threads 4, occasionally 5, spaces. I don't want it to be lumpy or to waste thread.
Depending on the count of the fabric, I consider how much floss will be consumed by ending and starting vs carrying. I stitch a lot on 25 ct over 1. It’s quite a difference to my other projects which are 18 ct.

Whenever you need a DMC color, let me know - I am in Kirkland and I have the whole set of DMC!! I do not like our local Michaels - they do not have a good stock on DMC.
