Here is a Fail, that I believe could have been my interpretation of the recipe.
When the recipe wanted me to slightly brown the flour and corn meal, it really didn’t give me an about time. So I had to guess. Judging by the color of the flour, it really didn’t start turning brown until about the 30 minute mark in the oven. Then the undelicious burnt pop corn smell was abundant.
I did try to look online, but was unable to find a good time for browning corn meal and flour. If you have an idea please leave me a comment in the comment section below.
I think another way I possibly screwed it up was, after cooking, I looked at the Corn Meal package and saw it contained Hot Rise. I am not sure if that affected the cooking. I’ve used this corn meal before when making breadsticks for a pizza night.
These were supposed to have been biscuits. Of course I know biscuits aren’t all soft and fluffy.
These came out half hard. I’ve tried on by itself. Then one with butter. Then one with honey. Then one with butter and honey. The burnt popcorn smell also transformed itself into a taste.
I believe between the browning of the cornmeal, the “Hot Rise” and probably just cooking too long, make these a disaster. I will at some point, off camera try these again. And if I can make them better, I’ll do an update video.
    Thank you for watching!!!!

This video is a tribute to all Grandmas out there. I recently have gotten ahold of 50 to 100, at least, year old recipes that my Grandma used to prepare for us when we was growing up. My wife also presented me with her Grandma’s / Grandma’s box collection of handwritten recipes, a lot of them without titles. So, making many of these cooking videos will be a surprise even to me.
I follow the recipes exactly with no substitutions on ingredients. Grandmother recipes are the ones you can always relate to. You can eat something and you might say “Like Grandma Used to Make”.
The recipes I have, are from original cookbooks, newspaper cutouts, or good ol’ handwritten recipes. If you found this video valuable, or fun, give it a like.
