This season brought Love/Hate back to its roots as to what made it so great in the first place with so much shocking and brilliant developments
Season 4 was a cop out but 5 was a fantastic conclusion.for me 3 and 5 ar the strongest with 2 following closely up.

Darren was a miss. John Boy not so much, he was overdue being taken out & the show was more fun without him tbh.
They cant just kill off darren and expect it to be okay im sure we all thaught he was invincible

Despite King Nidge claiming he ‘doesn’t give a fuck about anyone’ it’s evident how much Darren meant to him and how much he didn’t want him to die… Darren was, however, responsible for the petrol bombing of Dano’s car and finishing off Git, so Nidge was right to sacrifice him. That being said it absolutely broke his heart to sacrifice him and it is the only time in the entire show that we see Nidge’s soft side and him bawling over his fallen comrade, and the best possible man to have on your side in any walk of life.
This was sad, I liked his character but knew he was due to die soon, I suppose his killer loved him but hated him for killing her brother, kinda made sense!

Even though nidge is careless and full of it I like seeing him upset at the fact that he had to sell out a friend to save his own ass selfish thing but great writing on the shows part
I'm still in shock that they killed darren off the show, basically the main character of the show. It's going to be really hard for me to watch the 3rd and 4th season knowing robert sheehan as darren won't be coming back for the 4th season of love/hate. But i will try to keep watching the show for tommy. Why couldn't they just write in the script that darren left to go back to spain or left to london instead of killing him. what ever it is, what it is.

They showed Nidge at the start and the end of the first episode of Season 4 visiting Darren's grave and pausing while showing a look of regret and guilt before driving off. Season 5 certainly exceeded the excitement that series 2 and 3 had. Season 1 was also good but wasn't the best in my opinion and Season 4 wasn't actually that bad but it had a terrible finale

season 3 made me absolutely hate Nidge but at the same time I couldn’t stop watching, fuckin brilliant acting thru the whole series
Darren deserved to pay for the crimes he done but he did not create himself. Nidge threatened him in season two to grow a pair or there will be retaliation and no one will give a shite if there is. Basically forced him to carry out a hit which drastically changed him as a person and the people he surrounded himself with are a prime factor in his demise. Season 1 darren who was there for his sister would not have done anything like what the rest of the seasons portrayed him to be had he just got himself out of that company and location. I couldnt believe he was shot when it happened live on rte, first time i felt awful for someone who had it coming. A tragic and amazing character to the series. Rte messed up getting rid of this, best ratings for a show that they ever had I reckon. Fkn miss love hate 😂

I watched the entire 3rd series and still don't know why Nidge wanted Darren clipped. Was it because he let Elmo off instead of whacking him?
The IRA promised to leave Nidge and the gang alone provided he bring in their weapons for them and that he had to offer up Darren as a sacrificial lamb if you will (kind of the same as what happened to Janet and Stumpy). That's the reason why Nidge is breaking down and crying in this scene because he knows that Darren is on his way to his imminent death and he hates the fact that he has to kill one of his closest friends. Probably one of the best episodes of Love/Hate. The one where Darren shoots John Boy and the season 5 finale being two other contenders.

I think Darren got what was coming to him. He left a toddler orphaned because he didn't bother wearing a balaclava (and he also knew that the guy he shot was innocent to begin with before that). He also started the whole chain of events off in series 3 by throwing the pipebomb after Nidge told him not to.

nah Tommy ain't king he's sadly a vegetable at that point reckon ado are some young one took over are terrence but yet nidges is organisation was small fry compared to terrenace so might not took it over should been a season 6 tho.
