Blousing Tacitcal Pants and boots with TGO

  • I recommend Blousing BDU's or tactical pants because if they are cut to be bloused and not bloused they look like shit, and the cuffs drag on the ground.
    I love 5.11 zipside boots.
Just get yourself some ponytail hair ties from walmart for like 99c and slipe them over the top of your boots and tuck your pants into them under the hair tie at the top.
Avoid shitty Chinese Made look Alike Jungles, the 5.11 boots are the way to go.

I wear tactical boots while on duty as a security guard and just recently I found out from a 50 years old veteran that I'm not wearing my boots correctly. With no military knowledge I wore my boots over my my tactical pants and for like the longest time I thought it look so right but luckily this nice old man recommended me to blouse it like in the video. Pretty awesome cause no one ever noticed that I wore incorrectly so I thanked the man with appreciation. Thanks, this video was very helpful.

Thanks for the technique I'm a future US Marine too and the only difference is Marines have these small bands with hooks on the end that you pull around your boot and then hook together and do it the same way you did. I was not aware of that when I first viewed this video, and while the hooks work best, this is also a great technique. Thank You.

I think you just contradicted yourself there. Blousing offers protection. It stops insects and assorted nasties looking for a warm place to hide, it stops foreign objects entering your boots, it reduces wear on the bottoms and you're not as likely to snag on anything like bushes, trees etc. I'll grant you there's not much woodland in Afghanistan, but do it the same way every time and you're not going to get caught out. That's just good drills.

It was presented as universal but its really not at all. It doesn't blend even a little bit in most terrain really, but it does do pretty decently in limestone heavy mountains (the Rockies for instance, also some places in Afghanistan) but again, once you get to anything green you're in trouble. It will also do fairly well in urban terrain against concrete and even some asphalt. Multicam is a better solution though, hope we transition entirely at some point.

You blouse em so you don't get debris in there, and if you NEED to be wearing bdus, you're not gonna worry about them looking good. there are also more reliable cheap blousing garters on the market, many trousers also have a drawstring at the cuff for the very reason of blosung, and or rain/wet conditions.

25 cents at the PX will get you a pair of blousing bands. But I guess for civilians you can use hair ties. Either way they work the same. In the Army we're supposed to keep our laces tucked in and we have to blouse our trousers up above our boots. I just tie my trousers around my ankle and wear them under my boots. I only watched this video to find other ways to blouse boots. Always good to learn new shit right?
