- I recommend Blousing BDU's or tactical pants because if they are cut to be bloused and not bloused they look like shit, and the cuffs drag on the ground.
I love 5.11 zipside boots.
Just get yourself some ponytail hair ties from walmart for like 99c and slipe them over the top of your boots and tuck your pants into them under the hair tie at the top.
Avoid shitty Chinese Made look Alike Jungles, the 5.11 boots are the way to go.

I wear tactical boots while on duty as a security guard and just recently I found out from a 50 years old veteran that I'm not wearing my boots correctly. With no military knowledge I wore my boots over my my tactical pants and for like the longest time I thought it look so right but luckily this nice old man recommended me to blouse it like in the video. Pretty awesome cause no one ever noticed that I wore incorrectly so I thanked the man with appreciation. Thanks, this video was very helpful.
perfect. never thought about . I used the same but inside my boot . since I am on post for 9 hours . I was worried about blood circulation, now I learn something different from you. thank you very much. I am a BPO..
buddy those strings hanging off your pants those are to blouse your boots lol
sooo. I'm looking for the skinny look. Any tips?
Anyone know How the main dude from Mafia 3 wore his boots with jeans tucked in
Thanks a lot! No one really showed me how to do this in my unit so this was a big help!
This video actually helped me a lot thanks Tex Grebner Outdoors
Awesome idea!
You can use the strings but you don't have too. The video was really helpful thx!
just joined army cadets and I thank you for helping me with this.
Thanks for the technique I'm a future US Marine too and the only difference is Marines have these small bands with hooks on the end that you pull around your boot and then hook together and do it the same way you did. I was not aware of that when I first viewed this video, and while the hooks work best, this is also a great technique. Thank You.
This helped since I got a new pair of boots for mountain warfare school and their only 7 inches so tucking them in doesn't work
Great. How about a video explaining the velcro ones?
@derekgrebner87, also, how much do they weigh? The lighter the better. I like the side zipper, seems like a good idea.
Why us army refrained from using the ACU?
what about just tucking the pants into the boot,,please reply im leaving for my first trip to iran
thinking about getting some boots like this at some point. moving to arizona soon.
How do you tuck your pant leg into your boot without it getting untucked when you sit down?
Do you do this because you dislike the drawstrings at the bottom of BDU's?
@derekgrebner87, are those water proof?
That was very helpful, thank you brother.
I like the color camoflauge more than the boots, Tru Specs?
what kind of camo pattern is on those bdu pants?
@derekgrebner87 dont they make composite non-metallic safety toes?
You put it on your sock boot top high and they do make boot bands for a reason
Do you know the size or barcode # for the hair ties you bought? I saw several different sizes and thickness at Wal-Mart. Thanks.
Thank u man ! How can I wash my boots?
Mate, why don't you use the laces on the BDU to do that? I do that all the time ( is a pain in the ass to tie them but hey, it's good :P )
do u where bdu's every where u go
@MegaGewehr hey 5.11 DOES make steel toes now they are called the A.T.A.C shield boot they are a 8in. sidezip and they are great boots
hey im from the 134 acu or australian cadet unit and is this also Australian way to blouse my boots
Great tip.
Neatness counts !
Cheers.
tex, partner u have idea hw much help u did to me by this video.... totally loved it.
and greeting from INDIA. take care buddy!!!!!!
I like your boots
can you do that with jeans too! thx
It looks great
@camakazi48 multicam it's the us army camo that's replacing acu
usually after you tie the boot you tuck it into the boot
well the laces
I'm completely positive we have the exact same pair of multicam pants.
my friend told me for pomp and sercomstsnce the would use heavy chain chocker collers to make perfict blousing....
they do use this method in the military, plenty of my friends said the same thing.
Nice video. Multicam is definitely the way to go...and it is amazing the number of people that don't know that BDU's are cut to be bloused.
@MegaGewehr I kinda prefer non steel toe boots, steel toes are heavy.
i thought that's what the ties at the cuff are for. or tucking them into the boot either way looks sharp nice job.
I just use the built in blousing straps & tuck them inside my boots, I usually blouse too keep shit & critters out/off my legs or where ever a critter (ticks, w/e) happens to wanna go
Isn't this what ankle ties are for?
Helped a lot was about to be inspected !!!!
nice ass shoes, i was already thinking of purchasing them before i came across your video, thank you for convincing me.
Great video! I just joined Civil Air Patrol and this definitely helped! Thank You!
Looking Good!
You should check out SpeedBlouse!!
I tryed that they come untucked really easily.
Thank you!
good idea, thanks.
@kirkalicious86
I think you just contradicted yourself there. Blousing offers protection. It stops insects and assorted nasties looking for a warm place to hide, it stops foreign objects entering your boots, it reduces wear on the bottoms and you're not as likely to snag on anything like bushes, trees etc. I'll grant you there's not much woodland in Afghanistan, but do it the same way every time and you're not going to get caught out. That's just good drills.
is this guy actually in the military?
I don't think this guy is "All There" ...if ya know what I mean ....!!LOL!!
@derekgrebner87 LOL they do not meet OSHA standards but they look good. This is typical. I personally do not care about OSHA but some have to so it is a factor sometimes when buying boots.
Hey those hair tie's are a great idea. Then with the left overs you can put your hair in a pony tail on the days you feel like being a girlie girl.
Thanks for this video it really, helps
@jakkd07 ok I didn't know any of that. Alot of people don't want to wear DBUs but they do it cause they have to. however if they drag then it really needs to be don't sounds like
I have U.S. Navy standard issue Blousing straps.
It was presented as universal but its really not at all. It doesn't blend even a little bit in most terrain really, but it does do pretty decently in limestone heavy mountains (the Rockies for instance, also some places in Afghanistan) but again, once you get to anything green you're in trouble. It will also do fairly well in urban terrain against concrete and even some asphalt. Multicam is a better solution though, hope we transition entirely at some point.
where is the best place to buy those boots?
GeLsEnKiRcHeN95 they are 5:11 so... er 5:11
You blouse em so you don't get debris in there, and if you NEED to be wearing bdus, you're not gonna worry about them looking good. there are also more reliable cheap blousing garters on the market, many trousers also have a drawstring at the cuff for the very reason of blosung, and or rain/wet conditions.
Who sleeps with their boots next to them
It shows he is authentic Texican. :D
thanks for The info
cause I tend to doubt it
Nice video......this guy looks like he just fixed a transmission..... cool
usually after you tie the boot you tuck it into the boot
@LaCosaNostra97 i cracked up at your comment i dont kno why tho
last time I checked the US Marine Corps has 3 big important word on their crest... DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY! Ever since the inception of the NWU the Navy has bloused their boots... The "Old Navy" used those weird looking dungaree bellbottoms but yeah...
Thanks good video!
@MegaGewehr
steel toes are so rigid and hurt
tie the bottom of the pants then tuck them into your shoes
damn you bought multicam that shit 's exspensive
and Rothco combat boots I wear them to
At my px it was 99 cents.
It's not an option to blouse or not, in bdu's you have to, it's regulation
what you guys could also do is save some money and just use rubber elastic bands, 100 for a buck or something, just use 3 per side put 'm over your boot and roll your pants under them, give's a nice elastic stretch
*****
don't know still testing lol, still have the same one's after a year so
*****
yup just remember too use 3 pieces per side to give it more strength, still have 96 left from the pack which i bough for a few cents, you can even buy packs for a dollar or less of 1000pcs on ebay from china
I use elastic bands or hair ties to blouse my boots. It's easier coz I have to tie my hair back etc and I ALWAYS have hair ties. Just use a couple that's what I do and they last;-)
Hate to tell you bud, but those aren’t coyote brown. Standard “coyote” as it’s called is a tan, more like FDE. Actual coyote brown is a noticeably darker brown. So many people get this wrong.
you spelled tactical wrong in the title
He actually bloused the Marine Corps way.
But why blouse?
You blouse your boots to stop from dirt, bugs and shit..... from getting up in there...and thats DEFINITELY NOT how to do it either, idk..... I dont think this "Tex" dude has a clue about ANYTHING. I (and many others) watch his vids once and a great while STRICTLY FOR THE HUMOR.
work an gear sells them know
is it just me or is the vid glitching?
25 cents at the PX will get you a pair of blousing bands. But I guess for civilians you can use hair ties. Either way they work the same. In the Army we're supposed to keep our laces tucked in and we have to blouse our trousers up above our boots. I just tie my trousers around my ankle and wear them under my boots. I only watched this video to find other ways to blouse boots. Always good to learn new shit right?
I watched you on Tosh.O!!!!!!!!!
@derekgrebner87 A lot of career fields require steel toes.
neat never though of that.
@camakazi48 multicam
OK TEX ANSWER THIS BACK. WHY USE THE WORD BLOUSE ?
Casey Kelso that’s what they’re called
This is probably the worst boot blousing I've seen. Either this guy is not prior military or was just terrible at anything uniform related.
He isn't prior military. He's a typical wannabe. He's funny though.
I wear Danner combat boots
maybe in the army...but im looking for usmc boot camp blouseing of the boot...so play rambo home boy your dead wrong
A lot of people blouse like this
what a POG.you dont blouse your trousers because they are made to be bloused or because they look like shit when they aren't.you blouse your trousers so trash doesnt get up into your cami bottoms and shit when you're out in the field snoopin' and poopin'.
Niceeeeeeeeee
I'm in Law Enforcement academy, and we just tuck ours in. And on a side note, tuck your laces in, otherwise good job.
