A small trick I like to use when chasing a obscuring ring marathon runner is to wear the mimic head when you spot them. The self damage will help reveal your position to your other co-invaders.

I miss instant backstabs. If someone tried doing this in ps3 demon's souls or dark souls 1/remastered I would just chase them with a buffed crit stick until I'm close enough to stop them. And most runners have no idea how to escape chains so the invasion would be over as soon as I'm close enough. God I miss my ps3.

@@Ganom-ng1zt True but there's counterplay to that. Yes, DS1 is a loaded with imbalances and overpowered stuff. But everything has a counter. Well except for bks crystal estoc and ptde chaos blade, the ds1 versions of rkss turtle and murky. Here's an example, chain backstabing. There are two main ways to avoid getting chained. There are others but I'm only going to talk about these two. For this example the other player is going to parry bs me on wakeup. Option 1 is to standstill my wakeup. Standstill has backstab immunity and if the opponent whiffs a bs I am gifted an easy parry. It's countered by waiting out the standstill. I can counter the wait out by using early getup, which lets me attack them before they have time to react. Early getup is countered by parry bsing their back as they stand up, as early getup removes your bs immunity. This is a super interesting rock/paper/scissors here and this entire interaction is only about 5-10 seconds long. I could even keep going with what can be done during a backstab or after escaping the chain, but I don't want to force that upon you. Long story short. Ds1 has some really fun rock paper scissors and mind games that I thoroughly enjoy.
Its shitters like these that make my blood boil. I'm not skilled enough to kill them consistently, nor am I prideless enough to bow glitch them. My only solace is you, JeeNine.

I left the game for such a long time but tbh I wanna kind of come back at least at invading u make it look pretty hard man. Still u got great skill with dealing with pressure etc. Damn, I have to think come back or not...Would u suggest it for an old veteran player? I don't know anything about estus glitching or any other weird glitch. Just me and my sword.

People that learn tech before they learn basic gameplay. It really does just boil down to the garbage finding out how to run from certain death just a little bit longer. They've actually gotten worse with all of these safety nets that keep getting thrown underneath them, it's sad, but like a car crash, you can't look away.
