2020 Honda Pilot vs 2019 Honda Passport | What are the differences?

  • Honda revived the Passport nameplate for 2019, but in a confusing move made it look pretty close to not only the 2019/2020 Honda Pilot, but also the Honda Ridgeline. Because of that, people are confused about which of these two SUVs is right for them. Today, I compared the 2019 Honda Passport Touring AWD to the 2020 Honda Pilot Touring AWD to see any and all differences between them. After watching this video, you should be able to tell which of them better fits your lifestyle.
I evaluate each vehicle in seven different categories to highlight model differences:
    1. Value (Features for MSRP per vehicle)
    2. Safety (Both active safety features and passive IIHS results)
    3. Power-train and performance (Engine, transmission, 0-60 time)
    4. Fuel Economy (EPA rated fuel efficiency)
    5. Reliability (Rated by Consumer Reports)
    6. Styling (How each SUV looks, from my point of view)
    7. Functionality (How well the SUV performs intended function)

Thanks. Good video. The Passport is not brand new, however, but it's been resurrected from the 90s model era which it shared a platform I believe with an Isuzu model.

If both vehicles are similar in almost every way I rather buy the pilot for extra room it has no point to spend the same amount of money the reason I say that is because although the $2000 difference the , taxes and fees will close the gap in the overall total price of both car.

And if you're buying either vehicle used, you can also throw in the CRV, and buy whatever one you want with basically the same pricing depending on where you live and the difference between your average used car lot. If you have any family or family ever visiting I still can't see passing up on the Pilot except. It gets the same MPG as the Passport.
The best MPG is the CRV but don't buy the hybrid if you are looking for bang for your buck. Car review videos show that there is not enough difference in actual MPG unless you're doing a lot of city stop and go to pay for the 4000$ difference between a lower model and CRV hybrid.

I believe the Pilot has a brake hold - assist button and the passport does not.

What changed for 2020 vs 2019 on each model? Anything?

Nothing major that I could find beyond things like new paint colors. I did notice the MSRP of the Passport jump $100 from 2019 to 2020.

You should do 2020 Chrysler Voyager to 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan or 2019

I don't think any dealers I know of stock the Voyager because interest in it tends to be pretty low. If I can find one, I will definitely look into it!

Not enough price difference to justify a passport purchase over a pilot
...but ppl do what they want with their money. Honda is happy either way

Good review! Gee, do u prefer the Pilot?? I only have 2 kids, want easier-to-park vehicle living near the beach & like the sportier Passport look & the front/grill that looks like the Lexus RX350!! 🤙😎
I prefer a stick for the shifter, but LOVE the buttons for wives who can no longer shift into D while the vehicle is still rolling backward! 😉

Thank you! And the Passport does sound like a better option for you as it’s slightly smaller and easier to park but can still fit enough to support a family of 4. Plus it does look sportier, as you mentioned!

You should compare 2020 Chrysler Voyager to 2020 Chrysler Pacifica. Just a suggestion
