Flash TWRP, go to wipe, then select data and then click repair or change file system, then change it to ext2. Then change it back to the original type and try whatever operation was failing earlier to see if it works now.
Note: Make sure to change it back to the original which might not necessarily be ext4. My data partition (Xiaomi 11T Pro running MiUI 14) was f2fs. If you accidentally change it to something else you might screw up your phone even further.

I was able to flash a J710FN custom ROM on J710GN model using your method. Although I want to let you know that on the J710GN, even after changing the file systems back and forth and wiping all the data, the error "Unable to mount /vendor" kept showing. Do you know why that is happening? Appreciate the help. Thanks

i did excatly as you said but still the problem is there changed the data settings also
and there is no system folder in my phone(poco x2) what to do the invalid argument error still shows and system_room no such device or address aa raha he vendor /product/odm/ invalid argument aa raha hai

Okay, worked. If you still have issues go to Mount>Disable MTP>Unmount Data(or system) and try again

There is no sd card in my device. Can we protect the internal memory in rom transitions this way? I don't want my internal files to be deleted in terp rom migrations.

For those people getting /system OR /vendor not found error, may reboot to fastboot and try some other twrp image , I used the Twrp 3.6.0 11-2 Surya from Sampath sam fx channel
