      My English is a little bad and what does veterporfin do? Does it regrow the grafts taken, that is, does it heal the roots? Does it regrow the hair taken during hair transplantation or does it only heal the wounds that occur after hair transplantation?

    So it’s best to wait rather than getting a hair transplant anytime soon? I was thinking of doing a HT in the next 3-4 months (2600 grafts recommended by Dr.)
    Any doctors in Turkey doing Verteporfin?
    Or should I get 2600 grafts in first HT and then verteporfin HTs if I need it later on? I will basically lose out on regrowing 2600 from my donor area if I do a HT now

    • @trystramshandy
      @trystramshandy Před 8 měsíci

      The only way I can imagine verteporfin working is to allow the cells around it to replicate into the wound, so I imagine that the wounds on your recipient area would heal with hair follicles that were as DHT sensitive as the ones you lost.

      @@HairTransplantNetwork  That's not what I meant.
      My idea is to take the remaining grafts from the donor to replenish the scars (also on donor area) left by the first transplant, and in the place where these fresh follicles were taken, Verteporfin should be administered to allow the grafts to grow back there. In this way, we will replenish old scars and the newly collected grafts will grow back. What do you think ?

    So Verteporfin respawns hair follicles where there aren't any? Creates a brand new follicle from scratch? Why wouldn't you just put it into the bare areas of thee head instead of just the donor area?

    • @HairTransplantNetwork
      @HairTransplantNetwork  Před 9 měsíci

      No, verteporfin works by inhibiting the formation of scars. So essentially, you can have a hair transplant and inject Verteporfin, and those extractions will grow back in theory.
