For me as a solo indie game dev 3ds Max is unmatched when it comes to modeling/asset creation but yeah this update didnt feel good (enough). Some of us think this might be a minor update that was supposed to be a 2024.3 but never came. In that case a 2025.1 should be the major update which i hope is the case. Otherwise its not a good message that Autodesk is sending to us customers and also potential customers.

Thanks for the video. Such a shame that profit is more important than the root and branch work that's needed here. You look at this major release and wonder an update such as the search function being updated is derisory.

3DS Max already has many features in comparison in Blender such as retopology. FFD much better in 3ds Max. And many features much better in 3ds max. Only one feature needs for 3ds Max is a Transfer normal data between objects.

The 2025 UV editor is broken, have you noticed the UV edges are thicker and have more aliasing? Is there a solution?

Sure, Blender’s got its perks. If you’re into watching your PC turn into a statue with a heavy mesh, it’s the perfect choice! meanwhile, 3ds Max just breezes through complex models and meshes like it’s nothing, acting like a reliable friend to artists. it offers a proper and solid modeling tools and a industgry standard animation and rigging capabilities, Max is practically in a league of its own for serious 3D work. Maybe we should start comparing Blender to Midjourney rather than focusing on a major facelift, which might just confuse Autodesk users. We should respect the standards and community that 3ds Max upholds. After all, it’s about the artist, not just the tool. while it’s understandable that you’re making your video for views and fame, maybe take a moment to look deeper into the topic before spreading some misconceptions about a solid and reliable software

Thank you for your complete explanation. In addition to providing new features, the purpose of this video is to suggest Autodesk to provide complete updates with more attractive features. And by no means, our intention was not to compare with blender, and it is only an example for people, how much a software can find. Thank you again for your comment❤️🙏🏻

a couple years ago I went to blender and Im never coming back, global search and menu editor are good features, but it would take a complete user interface redesign for me to even think of going back, which I know they are not going to do. im not blaming the developers in Autodesk but the execs, the majority of Autodesks profits come from Autocad, 3dsmax is just a smaller drop in the bucket, the management doesn't have the love for their product and it shows.

I completely agree with you. We hope that the change of the user interface will be done soon so that it does not lose more customers.

What a shame and disgrace. If I were still an Autodesk customer I would be furious. I'm more and more confident that stopping the renewal of my perpetual 3ds Max licenses 2 years ago was the right decision. No notable game-changing features have been added since then. Looks like Autodesk don't want my money. I've already saved thousands of dollars on pointless "upgrades" that I can spend on things that actually matter instead of Autodesk's board of directors' new yachts, because this is where it feels like their customers' money go and not in the proper development of this software. At that pace, it will be another 5 years before I miss some cool functionality/feature that's not available through a plug-in or a script.
