It's not about the whiskey, it's the people you share it with!
#bourbon #whiskey #whiskeytube
WT101 is the best combination of quality, affordability, and availability in all of whiskey. May it always be so.
The bourbon and the rye!
It's my favorite. It really is. I started drinking bourbon with black label evan Williams. White label and wt 101 are my favorite. Price.and.taste over others.
amen
@@ltmoods4182 I have tried many others. There are none I like more than WT101.
@@newfie252 i agree
WT101 is truly bourbon for the people. Literally nothing about this bourbon is bad… flavor ✔️ price ✔️ availability ✔️. No matter where you are in your bourbon journey this bottle has something to offer.
I bought it on praise only, can't wait to taste it on New year's Eve. It normally goes for about 22 EUR in our contry, bought it for 18, was on sale, so if the taste is as good as everyone says, I'll be impressed.
Way too sweet, after 1 or 2 drinks you just taste sugar and not the flavor of the whiskey.
@@thebangkokconnection4080 lol
I'm trying it for my daily sipper and I find it too sweet as well. Rare breed, on the other hand, makes me tumescent.
@@thebangkokconnection4080 Nobody agrees with you Beta!!
WT101 is the swiss army knife of bourbons, there is literally nothing it can't do. I keep a 1.75 stocked on the home bar at all times.
Me three. I buy it in the 1.75.
Me four.
The 1.75 offering makes it even more affordable it comes down to like $18-19per 750
“Swiss army knife of bourbons” is the perfect statement. Well stated
@@garylewandowski8085 Thank you I'm originally an oenophile honestly a late bloomer to bourbon. My bourbon palate is still not the equal of my wine palate but kudos to Fred Minnick, Mash and Drum, and Rarebird101 for patiently showing me the way. #babysteps
The new bottle is sexy! I think it will definitely be picked up by people unaware of how good it is. Great job Wild Turkey!
Oh no, people will look the other way. They need to keep looking for allocated Buffalo Trace products.
I just hope people never realize how turkey products have been sitting right under their noses so we can still get quality alcohol at a reasonable price.
Just snagged it today for that very reason. 24$ is an insane value
The bottle is great!
$22 in Northern Indiana today. Quite a deal.
Shoutout to Jason C. for the quality of content you are providing to us whiskey fans! It's truly top-shelf. Thank you, sir!
Thanks Dan!
Well said Dan. Ditto on all points. Great channel!
I’ve tried much more expensive bourbons, bought a few. But WT101 just agrees with me. I find it more palatable, better tasting and just more enjoyable than almost every other bourbon I’ve tried in the under $50 category. Such a great value.
I was SHOCKED at how good WT101 was when I bought it for the first time this year.
Likewise
WT 101 is my absolute favorite, go-to, everyday sipper. It never disappoints and really delivers on flavor. If I only had one choice for a bourbon to keep o my bar, WT 101 is the bird! Great review, Jason. Thanks.
Just bought a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 here in Mexico. Costs about 385 pesos which is about $18 per bottle! Not bad at all. Love Wild Turkey, it's so good!
Markets only crazy if your chasing what everyone else wants. Still plenty of interesting and delicious bourbons on the shelves.
At least in my area even knob creek and WT 101 are becoming a little scarce
@@taylorb7191 is that the 'Chasers'? Or the general Supply chain issue?
If I had to pick just one for the rest of my life it’d be this one, and it’s not even close. I’ve drank more Wild Turkey 101 than I have all other spirits of any variety combined.
I just got my first 101 have never pulled the trigger before but I’m a huge fan now. I’ve had a couple bottles of rare breed but from now on for the price and goodness? It’s 101. Unbeatable. The new bottle label and design is also great.
WT101, Wild Breed, OGD 114, Coopers' Craft 100, OF 100 signature, OF 1920, and Elijah Craig Small Batch.
I heard Cooper's Craft is the higher priced replacement of Early Times BIB the B-F sold off to Sazerac.
Spent an hour or so at the WT distillery yesterday and got to meet Jimmy Russell. Signed a few bottles for me. Just a super nice guy.
I found this bourbon in college when I was less experienced in the whiskey world. there was something that stuck with this bourbon and its my go-to years later, hits the nail on everything u want in a bourbon.
Just bought another 1.75 of the new bottle design. 101 is so hard to beat in value, flavor, and availability. Cheers Jason!
Feel like I'm the one guy who can't get on board with the WT101 love. Every time I've tried it it has this burnt/sour/funky note that's hard to describe but just kills the experience for me. YMMV, etc.
I'm a bourbon person and I've honestly tried to enjoy it for the longest time; to me it has an oily, turpentine characteristic to it. While back I got a bottle of it, poured a glass and got distracted for almost an hour. Came back to it after it DECANTERED holy shit it was good! I now keep it 8n a decanter and it's a game changer for me!
DECANTED
Just picked up a handle for $38.99. Can't beat it. You did a nice job!
Scotch and Irish drinker here. Having had plenty of bourbon, this is what hits the mark. Full flavoured, great mouth feel, plenty of punch and surprisingly complex. Always have a bottle to hand....and you should too.
Hello Good day I have few bottles left in the store ,Dm if you are interested in getting one 🥃🥃
I'm hooked on WT 101 and Rear Breed. You can keep those high priced out of reach labels, I've never been a label guy anyways. You may have done this before but you should do some blind tastings kind of a "bottom shelf" or low priced vs "top shelf" or over priced thing.
I agree. Most of the higher priced bottles I've bought have been extremely disappointing. The only bottle I have no problem spending more than 45 bucks for is Woodford double oaked. Other than that I'm satisfied with with wild turkey products and occasional bottle of Buffalo trace or old Forrester 100. I can find buffalo trace here usually for the same price as wt 101, so I usually always have both on hand.
@@Cosmos_Mariner no I haven't sounds like I'm going to have to pick up a bottle Thanks
WT101 was one of my first bottles. At first, it was too hot for me. Now, 6 months later, I love it, amazing especially for the price.
Couldn't agree more. Love this stuff. Amazing value and its the best bourbon for Thanksgiving as it has a friggin turkey on it!
Only tried this on your recommendation not too long ago & have been kicking myself for being so slow off the mark in discovering it. Best bourbon for the money bar none & a real breath of fresh air on it`s availability which is very commendable these days. Another great review Jason, cheers!
This and Knob Creek 9 are my go to bang for the buck drams
I'm fairly new to whiskey in general, especially drinking it neat. Found it on sale so decided to give it a try. Given the proof, this is really non-bitey. It's pretty sweet as well. Much more pleasant to drink that I recall regular Wild Turkey being. As an edit: Tried mixing with this and I really prefer it neat. It's marvelous sipping as a desert drink given it's sweet corn note. Just be careful, because that ABV is darn well hidden.
regular wild turkey tastes like cardboard compared to 101. so good its my daily driver.
Kinda sweet like southern comfort?
Love everything WT, and to think I used to snub my nose at them at a point in my life. I would nominate Old Tub as a great affordable whiskey as well.
Tried a dusty Wild Turkey 101 for 1981, it was one of the better pours I ever had, I liked it better than the pour of an old bottle ECBP at 132 proof.. that dusty turkey was something special!!
Wild Turkey has been my go to bourbon since 35 years. There is a lot of great bourbon out now, but none better than Wild Turkey 101, in my opinion
No there are tons that are just as good and better
Hell yeah!! It will be waiting for you just like a good old friend!! Thanks Jason for highlighting an absolute great bourbon that is an exceptional value. I am a total whiskey snob and I love winning money from other snobs on this one in blind taste bets!! This puts $50.00 bourbons to shame and keeps $70.00 in check for sure...
You have always beaten the drum for 101. And I agree. It's always on the table at our annual trout fishing trips and enjoyed by all. And last Christmas my wife got a bottle for $14 bucks at the local grocery store with a coupon. LOL.
I'm a bourbon novice and just tried this for the first time ever yesterday. I knew from the first sip why this whiskey is so popular and why I haven't heard one bad word about it.
At least from my perspective - it definitely hits the most marks at it's price point, and it's not even close. This will probably be my go-to budget bourbon until I find something to top it.
You won’t, for the price
Here in Japan the 101 has a 8-year age stagement 😀
I totally agree! Wild Turkey101 is my favorite daily sipper and has been for years now and all the reasons you stated make it a winner. Hopefully they never change the way they're doing business.
WT 101 is my go to every day sipper. Loyal, reliable, high octane, etc. It’s the best bang for the buck. 🥃
The only question for me is why haven't I bought a bottle of this yet? Getting one soon.
You won't be sorry, if you really want a kick try WT Rare Breed
I honestly love buying 101 if I plan on drinking during a Friday or Saturday evening. It's great quality for the price and can be quite fun if your plan is to get drunk. It's great on the rocks, without rocks, or if you're doing shots with some friends.
I finally got around to trying this fantastic bourbon at the advice of this channel and I am SO glad I did. Can not believe the amazing flavor for this price.
Wild Turkey 101 has been my bourbon of choice since I became of legal age to drink it. I've had it neat, with ice, and in cocktails and it has never disappoined. Plus for the price it cannot be beat.
My fav Bourbon for cocktails. Makes a great Old Fashioned and a phenomenal Whiskey sour
There are no better than 101 budget bourbon... It's the budget king ❤🎉
I just bought me a bottle and it has been a long time since I had any and I love Russell’s 10 year reserve and Long branch but I did forget how Great tasting wild Turkey 101 is great review thank you
Still remember when 101 had an age statement. Had a bottle of 8yo, paid 20€...those were the days!
I was at the local grocery yesterday and for a Russels 10 for $29 and a Knob Creek 9 for 26…. 2 age stated right on the shelf totally delicious …. No chasing. Turkey and Knob Creek always there and you can’t really go wrong
Wild Turkey is soooo underrated. Those looking for the best, look no further than ANY of the Wild Turkey products. I'm a sucker for that Rare Breed. Cheers!
Thanks for showing respect for the $25 bottles Jason. Next up the 101 Rye!
Wish I could get it here in Canada
Every time I drink the 101, I can taste sticky cinnamon bun, caramel candy, and slight hints of pecan and walnut. Absolutely phenomenal bourbon for the price!! So far I have only tried Russell's Reserve SIB, Rare Breed, and the classic 101. Wish I can get hands on more WT products where I live. Also, my country's alcohol tax is unreasonably high!!
Hello Good day I have few bottles left in the store ,Dm if you are interested in getting one 🥃🥃
This and Rare Breed were absolute revelations for bourbon. They are simply fantastic value and absolutely delicious.
I just have the 101 all the time, always my go to, and welcomed beauty to any and maybe every flight in the last decade!! Love it. This is a classic profile of a classic bourbon, never to be missed!!🥃🥃🥃❤️
Hello Good day I have few bottles left in the store ,Dm if you are interested in getting one 🥃🥃
My wife used to fix her mixed drinks for her and the ladies with Crown Royal. I had her mix with the Wild Turkey 101 one day and that was the last time Crown was used. Her and the ladies love the taste and the extra punch from the 101.
I guess I cut my “bourbon quest” teeth on WT101. (Yes, I’m a noob) while having Covid has gotten my palate out of wack, I’ve kinda been comparing everything else to it.
I’m struggling to pick out specific flavors in any bourbon, but the spiciness is the one thing that stands out for me.
Always enjoy your videos Jason!
Hello Good day ,it is very easy to order dm me if you are interested in getting one
The first time I was surprised by 101. We were camping and decided we needed bourbon and cigars. All the small store had was 101 in a plastic bottle. We we loved it!
First year after college some of my best friends and I went on a backpacking trip. We got an upperclassman we knew from Highschool to buy us a handle and he got us a bottle. One of the best trips of my life; easily my favorite liquor with the nostgia.
It is indeed .
Just bought another bottle today.
25 pounds great value for money.
Thanks for the video
I just bought a bottle of the 101 at Walmart for $22 and change (plus tax) cant beat that. Cheers.
Just tried this on the rocks for X-mas and I was pleasantly surprised. Only ever had it mixed before. There's a real nice sweetness that comes through and then dissipates and it's not harsh at all.
The new bottle is a definite improvement. Always my favorite bourbon!
I had to get up and pour a WT101 for this video. My wife made fun of me but it was well worth it. Love this stuff. It is the bottle I compare my higher $ purchases to. Thanks for the vids. Love ‘em.
Wow, I'm enjoying some 101 Wild Turkey tonight for first time with a Oliva V cigar and I have to tell you that it did opened a different word of flavors for me. It's my second time trying bourbon and I'm surprised with all the flavors appealing... I used to be a beer guy, but I think that It came to a end. Wow...New subscriber, learning a lot with your videos. Thank you so much...
I love me some Wild Turkey 101! I like it with some A&W Cream Soda. Who remembers Austin Nichols Buckshot Saloon Style Whiskey? Man that stuff was so good and smooth
My favorite affordable because it's so well rounded.
Makes a fantastic old fashioned too..if I could only have one bottle this would be it
Best buy in bourbon hands down. I'll be searching for the new label this weekend. Nice review Jason.
Thanks Jason, I agree. I just picked up ANOTHER bottle yesterday. It's just my reliable go too. 🥃
I am a little worried that you say its "less sharp" or "softer" than the old one. My favorite thing about WT101 is the burst of flavor that touches every inch of your tongue and entire mouth. Even people who dont like WT101, no one can deny the mouth explosion of flavor.
Oh it's still there. It's just different. More sweet burst than the edgy spice. Still all turkey.
I've had a few new bottles already. Seems the same to me, the rye is the same to me too.
The burst of flavor is still there and it's not bad... but it tastes like someone dumped a sugar drop in it to me and I'm not particularly fond of sweeter bourbons. That's one reason I can't stand Buffalo Trace or any of the Weller products I've had.
I much prefer the older bottling of it and went back to the store and bought all the old bottles they had after I grabbed one of the newer ones and tried it and compared it to the older bottling I had.
My dad used to drink the biggest bottle of this in one night, back in his hay day. I’ve grown to appreciate this bourbon whether I drink it mixed or straight shots. Nothing compares to the quality and price of this.
I agree Jason, the Best bourbon at the best price. All other bourbons just disappear off the shelf and just don't stack up. And you can get it anywhere. 🥃👍
“BS marketing”. Love it. I have a few WT bottles in my collection too.
Been a Wild Turkey fan for decades...yeah!!!
16 euros online here in Germany, it's my first time buying a bourbon purposely to drink neat, as a Scottish malt drinker for years, it's really great to find your youtube channel as a great reference as I start a bourbon exploration. Layed back drummer doing the biz cheers
Jason C. explains the bird affection!
I am a working man I like ew black or 100 and wt 101 it works for me and my wallet!
101 is my go to "everyday"..... Rare Breed is my splurge....since both I know I can find anytime!
Wild Turkey 101 is absolutely the best bourbon for the money!
Evan Williams Bottle in Bond is really good for a low price bourbon.
101 is always in my cabinet. I find myself reaching for it more than any other. Great video!
Your description of this could not be more accurate. This stuff really is that good and in my opinion easily holds up to many of the bottles we're willing to "wait in line" for. And it's like $25!!!
Amen. I tried this for the 1st time about a month ago....went out today & bought a bottle. I personally think it's as good as Blantons.
"It's as solid as they come!" nuf said! Truly - Foundationally great bottle... every time
Makers mark and WT101 are my go to's. Old Forrester 86 is another one. I could sip on that all day
Just bought a bottle tonight to see if I like a rye bourbon. I'm a Maker's Mark fan having recently bought their 46, cask strength and a store pick select. Rye will be my next adventure.
Glad to see something out there on my go to bourbon. I drink every way you mentioned and it never disappoints.
You said it right Jason C. At my local military PX, I can get a one liter bottle of WT101 for $19 dollars. It's delicious as always and leaves enough money in my pocket for cigarettes and MacDonald's.
Having a glass neat for the first time and I'm loving it. It's going down smoother than no.7 sour mash JD. But with a longer lasting spice backend for sure. With a swoosh around the mouth, it's pleasant burn lasts much longer than JD. Now I've been drinking JD for obvious reasons and It does not ever disappoint but my local liquor store ran out! Can you believe that? I decided to give the WT 101 a spin after having seen so many reviews and I'm a happy customer. Great review. I subbed.
Everything you said about the new bottling is exactly what my thoughts were when I tried it. Even the new Russells 10 yr bottling for this year are sweeter as well. Cheers,
Thats a climate change, silver lining?
Don’t get many bourbon choices where I am in Germany but the 101 and four roses single barrel are readily available and I like both of these, especially for the price. Great review Jason
This is my "house" bottle, always a handle of Turkey 101 open on my bar.
In the horrible bourbon market in Ontario Canada this one is a staple on a lot of Bars. Great price taste abv. Zero complaints with WT101
It’s $17.99 in South Kentucky. Great review, Jason. I love your descriptions of the taste and character of whiskies.A quick follow up… I got to stop by Wild Turkey today. Picked up a new bottle and had it signed by Mr Jimmy Russel. Told him I was a fellow Kentuckian, and had a chance to to just talk about current goings on. Great experience. Looking forward to going back soon. I love 101!
Ha! I know you're partial to Wild Turkey, as am I, but we have to keep telling folks . . . it's damn good, no matter the price. It's not just for frat parties. It's for real enjoyment, by mature individuals, in a relaxed social setting. A great campfire pour with close friends.
Hello Good day I have few bottles left in the store ,Dm if you are interested in getting one 🥃🥃
WT101 is phenomenal for the price. Can pick this up for £25 in the UK, exceptional value. Love the intensity of it, absolute fire
It's my bourbon mixer.....Russell Reserve 10, Craig SB, and a few barrel picks are my sippers.
Wild Turkey bourbon and Johnnie Walker Red Scotch are signature mainstays of their respective whiskey/ whisky offerings. Can't go wrong with either of them.
I see your point, but that JW Red has to be among the worst scotch. But can’t beat the WT101 in bourbon value.
101 is my all time favorite bourbon...
Great juice! Love all the WT products so far. This and the 101 rye are my favorite.
That song hits pretty hard.... I dig it
Love the music on the B-roll. Turkey 101 is our go to when we just want to sip on something and relax but also great in a cocktail. Love it!!
Last bottle of WT101 I purchase, a couple weeks ago was a 1.75L for $32.95 here in Florida
Tried so many including single barrels and upmarket brands like Knob Creek, just keep coming back to this fabulous brand. Smooth, affordable, easy drinking. Nothing else comes close on my opinion!!!🤗
WT101 has been the bottle I go to everytime. It is delicious and I could sip on this one bottle all night. Some taters out there would call me a proof snob for going with this bottle compared to some others at a lower proof.. let them chase the allocated bottles, I'll keep my kickin chicken... thank you.
I just tried this in little airplane bottles (as well as a few other whiskeys i hadnt tried before) as i spent the last 10 days in a hotel room.
Initially, i didnt buy a full bottle of whiskey and went for the airplane shooters because i didnt think id finish the bottle off in 10 days.
After sampling WT, i decided i couldnt buy a bottle because i would drink way too much of it.
