Karma's community is actually really nice, I joined an OPS event and informed them that I was still somewhat new to squad, and they really took me through how to do everything while at the same time doing the OPS event. Really nice community he's put together.
Squad in general seems to attract some of the nicest people in the gaming community

I bought it dirt cheap, knowing it would probably never be as cheap again. And only recently could i actually play it due my old system being a 7year old potato of a laptop 😂

@@leighhenson2773 Lol, I did the same. I bought it in March for 24$ but I only had a 6yo laptop so I played it on Geforce Now... :D It wasn't the best with a little input lag but I built my gaming PC 2 weeks ago so now I play it on this one. I looove it.

Well, our Men, and Women in the armed forces deal with it on the field. And as far as I know, Karmakut has military experience. It shows sometimes. And I'm sure he's used to it.
@@GodOfWar221 lol I wasn't a commo guy, but I was an Infantryman, and I've been to combat so I'll answer this one the best I can.
In conventional forces, only team leaders above carry radios, which operate on networks we setup and control. Radios are considered a “sensitive item" aka “You'd better not fucking lose this unless you're a POW”. Radios are kept in pouches or bags, and usually tied down in some way to prevent loss, so the likelihood of just straight up losing it is slim to none. Let's pretend it got damaged or destroyed in combat, and for some crazy reason that was the only one.
Note: This is very unlikely; as I mentioned above, team leaders and above have radios, and it is very, very rare that conventional forces would be operating below the platoon level, so you would have at minimum 7 other radios around you.
So you're in a combat zone and don't have any comms devices. Chances are, you would turn around and RTB right there; you have no way to call for CAS, artillery, or help of any kind. If that isn't an option, then you're probably in a reeealy nasty situation. In an austere environment, you probably won't be seeing any cellphones or other similar tools, so you're up shit creek without a paddle there. In an urban environment, you might get lucky. If by some stroke of luck you find a working cellphone you might be able to contact the rear detachment of your unit stateside, who could then contact your base wherever you are and relay a message for you, which would probably be your SITREP. You won't be able to get a hold of anyone near you, because as I said before, you have no way of connecting to the military controlled network.
This is of course all hypothetical, but the chance of this happening is very slim and I've never heard of an instance of this happening before.
capt crunch ahh, I see. Thanks for explaining that. I’ve never served, so I could only speculate. I wanted to, but was deemed unfit for service, due to having broken my back when I was younger. All I can offer is my utmost respect for what you, and others have done.

@@captcrunch5805 Nah, you're all good. I was racing dirt bikes at the time, and had a pretty nasty crash. My only regret, is being unable to follow in the footsteps of my dad, whom was a Marine infantryman in Vietnam. When I announced my intent to enlist in the Marines, he was ecstatic. But, no..no lingering issues. Took a couple surgeries, and some pretty length rehab though.

100% want to see a hostage rescue scenario. Get a squad loaded with unarmed, position them around the map, and the mission is successful when all soldiers are at main. One life hard mode ftw

I backed Squad in 2014. Ever since then I've tried it for a couple hours every few months. Not until this year has it felt like a complete game.

I would be curious to hear a post round synopsis. I thought Russian side was getting held off pretty well but it seemed like the last push on the FOB with mortars and smoke decimated the US/British side. Was not expecting them to suddenly crumble so easily.

Yes. It's like Karma said at one point in the video, the US side was playing a "really wide defense." They had people all around covering all points of approach, which was a really good counter to the Russian wide offense that they were attempting for most of the game. The Russian side was trying to approach from several different positions at once in a sort of surround strategy, but this was going nowhere because the US side had everything covered. The weakness of a wide defense though, is that while it covers a lot of ground, it is fairly weak at any one point. If you gather a lot of people for a large attack at a single point you will most certainly pierce through and outflank the enemy. This is what happened at the end and the US side did not react quick enough, they should have fallen back sooner to the FOB to strengthen their line at the point of the attack; they didn't so they got outflanked, lost their fortified walls, and then died as they tried to retake the FOB.

Max Chaudhari The standard game isn't what was originally promised, its transitioned away from hardcore and towards arcade. I would recommend trying Project Reality, which is currently free. It's the game squad was supposed to follow up. Dispite the outdate graphics it's one of the best games ever made.

So, is there an actual COC with an intel setup including positions and movement as a feature in game or is it just someone operating that on the go?
As far as I understand (which isn’t a whole lot since I’m still fairly new) the command gets no Intel except what the actual players give, so any Intel being received in game is all done by players reporting info and getting command to relay to SLs.
I haven't gotten Squad but I do love the content for one video I think it would make some pretty good content if you did Black Hawk Down just like the movie if they have that map

Komandant Logar Just played reserve this past evening. 38 FPS without even a reflex, had an ak74u with a b-18 mount. Also spawned (scav) with a remington with a sniper scope, adsing dropped the FPS to 30 or lower. I hate the performance of this game, honestly. I need a 1070 minimum personally.

@@notme7486 Mad respect for anyone who served/serves, but I cant due to health complications. I tried, got to the end of MEPs when they do the full body physical, and then got DQ'd due to issues with my inner ears from my extended history of ear infections and CF related issues. I do play these games for the immersion, and using klicks just helps keep the immersion. Id be an officer in the army if I could, as I have the education for it, but I unfortunately can't due to previously stated issues.
That being said, guys like me are minimal. Most are the absolute god damn retards you're talking about.

i just got this game and i'm having a good time playing it but for some reason my mic isn't working in game, it works in every other game on steam and discord but i cant figure out why it isn't working in squad, does anyone have a suggestion?
You have to push buttons on your keyboard while talking. I think it's "V" to talk to people around you and unsure of the other buttons for your squad and command.
