I was lucky enough to drive a V10 R8 a few years ago. I'd never get tired of that engine note - the metallic howl of a normally aspirated V10 is truly a thing of beauty.
I guess I'm quite randomly asking but do anybody know a good site to stream newly released series online ?

I'm a big Porsche fan, but seriously, if for about the same money, you can not pick a turbo 911 over a V10 R8. The 911 will be a better track weapon, but the R8 engine is so much more special. For an "every day supercar" tiny bit of extra performance from the 911 is not going to be better than having that V10 sound track that you can enjoy every day on any road.

@@maks3320 the current one is pretty good looking. It looks a lot like the first one, but more aggressive. The thing is that with the second gen we had an idea of what the style looks like because is not a new model; but with the first gen... was nothing but a BOOM!

I miss my 2009 R8! It proved to be too expensive to maintain for me. But man I loved it when I had it!

Iain it doesn’t matter what such a girl is thinking. It’s about your feelings behind the steering wheel. This car has DNA of LeMans. The first generation was created by the people who managed to win 13 seasons in the most difficult race ever. 😉

@@NoName-md5zb Sorry it's not like that. Please study something about R8 and it's origin and then come back for further discussion. R8 was made by Audi and they share the platform with Lamborghini. Antman 351 you are right the R8 is my favourite car and always will be but in saying that I’m not biased when making comments about it but it is a fact that the R8 is faster than the huracan in a quarter mile and even half mile and also on track but the huracan performante is a different breed end of the day they are all Audi’s so they are all the best cars cause Audi is the best😂😂

not sure how the lockdown rules are. But I see absolutely no problem with going to your own garage, driving out and going to a remote landscape and coming back home without ever meeting anyone.
@@DonLee1980 you can be fined for recreational diving, at least in the UK. It doesn't count as "essential travel" so they can charge you for it. Absolute pain in the arse not being able to go for a pleasure cruise unfortunately that's the way it is at the moment.

@@io504 i went for a blast the other day and again a few days later, it depends on your attitude, the attitude of the officer, the area ur driving, how ur driving etc etc..gove said drivers shouldn't be bothered if driving on there own so quote that to them if stopped.. the "essential travel" the police can use against u is more geared towards some twat going to pick up a lawnmower off ebay rather then someone getting some fresh air by him self on a country back lane.. my source of info? My neighbor is a motorcycle traffic officer.

Why fix something that never broke (r8 is timeless)
Audi should make a successor to the R8. For the electrification to have any effect it needs to be affordable, therefore I don’t mind an A4 1.8 TFSI being replaced by an electric model. But the few sports cars sold by Audi should be kept to their original recipe, especially since the R8 is an icon an can be shared with Lamborghini so it can be made cost effectively.
An updated version could even feature a mild-hybrid component where the na V10 produces around 650 HP with another 50 to 70 HP from an electric motor on the front axle or in the transmission (like on the Porsche Panamera E-hybrid 8 speed-PDK). Especially since such a setup would increase torque and reduce the gap to turbocharged models from Ferrari and McLaren.
The concept would resemble the 918 and could be a real proposal in times where everybody switches to turbocharged or all-electric supercars.

Got to agree only the Liberty Walk and Mansory versions look exciting. Mansory conversions are just crazy expensive though! A wonderful car but it's now run it's course!😪😪👍

And it comes with a toilet flushing sound in the cabin! A well know A/C problem from many owners, along with the deafening reverb with windows down on the track. Which anyone who has had the opportunity, the track safety require windows down for emergency situations. Other than that it's an awesome machine.

The new R8 makes you wonder why you would buy the Huracan when mechanically they are identical to each other.
Rear wheel steering makes Lambo more agile, some prefer the more aggressive looks, it has a little more power and the exhaust is more wild than the R8. Other than that very similar except Huracan is about 35% more in US
NO! the Huracan is a more aggressively styled and more aggressive persona in general. The Audi is more driver friendly and daily driver friendly.
jameswillard1 the lambo doesn’t have more power, they are the same HP, as fact, Some r8’s even beat lambos in drag racing. The lambo is just flat from the front
Antman 351 wrong! Huracan EVO has 630HP, R8 has like 610HP. Some regions may be different but in the US that’s the figures

NDIVHUWO Mphaphuli the R8 is much much faster than the rs6 and rs7 it does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds and the quarter mile in 10.6 second if properly launched as for the huracan and aventador u may have seen the performante version or the aventador wasn’t launched properly

They butchered it with the facelift, first gen R8 and Pre Facelift Second Gen are sleek but still aggressive, this looks like something a 10 year old would hack together on need for speed... awful

grabir01 it’s likely a demo car for journalists, and they’re not the most careful when testing cars.......
That's far more common than you'd think. People buy new cars like this then take them for a "Paint correction" and clear wrap the vulnerable parts of the car
R8's interior design, fit and finish, quality is no where near as that of a 911...
