Jared Tendler is an internationally recognized mental game coach. His clients include world champion poker players, the #1 ranked pool player in the world, professional golfers, and more recently, traders too.
If Jared was to summarize exactly what he does (and what he specializes in), it would be; removing negative and excessive emotion from decision making.

Everything that Mr. Tendler is talking about can be stored by keeping a trading diary. I've just done it myself for a month and a half and I sorted all my trading-related psychological issues. When you do the diary you can go back and simply look at your emotions as "data" and simply fix it with solid logic. The main problem with emotions is that we very quickly forget all the details about them and that's where the diary comes in. Almost the same as what he's talking about.

This lesson is very edgy. I really liked it. We have to know how to steer our own lower heart, so that the higher heart of us can come out to play.
What a great interview. That emotion is also why you can be a master at paper trading but once you are short 5k shares with your own money and you see a little draw down, you panick.

How much practice did you get in though? Do you have enough trading capital, and are you confident with your risk? You need ALL of these factors to work in tandem.

Having had success at both, Poker is a harder game imo than trading in trading you can predetermine the loss and profit target, and you always get to see the result. In poker you can get forced to fold your hand and even get bluffed against

Great interview. Risk management in trading and poker is virtually identical. For instance if you play poker tournaments, your bankroll should allow for at least 50 buy-ins; so each tournament, you would only risk 1-5%. I trade Forex and most of my trades are around 2-3% and I don't thrive, but I do survive... If you go to big, you will blow your stack in either universe. Follow the law laid down by the risk management Gods: DON'T BE GREEDY.

AA is the best starting hand. Straight flush is the best 5 card hand. AA is medium strength as a 5 card hand.
The tilt threshold talk may be heightened levels of cortisol from playing at night.
My mental game sucks... always want just a little bit more or just a little bit less, can't just accept what is in front of my eyes and make the immediate optimal decision.

Is there ever going to be anything with forex traders? Seems like most are stock traders only, unless I'm missing some
+kano b, I guess most of the interviews are with stock, futures, and options traders, but there are also some forex traders in the mix-even a bitcoin trader. I do have another episode with a forex trader coming out soon.

Wow he got an undergrad degree in businness and an undergrad degree in psycology and a masters degree on top of that? Must be a genius or something. How long dos all of that take?
6 - 7 years. Double majors are fairly common. I did Physics and Business for my bachelors. A lot of my friends did Physics and Math double majors, and Masters in Physics in 6 years flat.
I don't think he says he did a double major, at 4:00 he says he did a second undergrad degree in psychology on top of his business degree.
