Let us not blame the actors. Let us all blame the studio for not bothering to study the whole series, not letting Akira fill in ideas for the film, not backchecking or interviewing writers to see which one REALLY knows all about Dragon Ball and the whole universe and picking someone who not only doesn’t know ANYTHING about the entire story, but also just chasing the big paycheck and apologizing 10 years overdue. Fucking Hollywood doesn’t know shit when it either comes to certain comic book films or films based on manga/anime.

Well, he's not wrong, only the adaptation of the character this movie refers to as "Goku" is more in line with Tobey MaGuire's Peter Parker from the original Spider-Man trilogy and Tom Welling's Clark Kent from Smallville. Calling him "Goku" castrates Akira Toriyama and every true fan of his art.

It's so sad that the actors in this movie actually love dragon ball so much. They actually love the characters that they played as. If this film were good, I'm sure they would've been so proud that they played them.

I can't really blame the actors, because well, I imagine they have to act their characters as they are written in the script, but I would just refuse to give any interviews knowing what people will think of the movie.

So Emmy Rossum enjoyed playing Bulma because she's spunky and happy. Was she even conscious for her performance on set? The Bulma character in the movie was NOTHING like that. Literally just any old "badass" fighter chick who has a "relationship" with Yamcha that lasts maybe 2 seconds...
Stop comparing real life to anime it just does not work and never will. Just with anything fictional, it cannot and will never live up to its original. Same goes for super hero movies.

I honestly think if they changed a few things and didn't make it a Dragon Ball movie it would have been a cute movie for kids. It wasn't so much of a horrible movie as it was just a misplaced adaptation of the manga. Like why do it if the end result is not going to resemble the real thing at all? Both of these actors, though, are adorable people.

Any one seen or got the other dragon ball movie made by hongkong in 199x or ealier ? i seen it way way back then 10 to 15 years ago so.. and yes they did have extension pole + dragonballs but picolo die in the end after he swallow the 6 balls first , then goku push the last 4 star balls down to his stomach and he end up exploded, the dragon fly out of him. wonder if anyone seen it and upload it for us .
