  • In this lesson you’ll learn how to say that you’ve done something before, or that you haven’t ever done something before. You’ll also learn about how to use the words 정도, as well as 만큼 when talking about an amount. And you’ll learn how saying that you’ve done something before is different from saying that you’ve simply tried to do something before.

    Have you ever heard of "Learn Korean with Go Billy"? '고빌리랑 한국어 배우기' 듣 본 적이 있어요? Here, should we use the literal translation of "heard" (듣다) or some other verb? 🤔

  • @budderslime67

    Hi Billy, is the 본 necessary to convery a similar meaning? In japanese, you may know that we can say "yatte mita koto ga aru" as well as "yatta koto ga aru". "I have tried doing" vs "i have done". Would it be correct to say "해본 적이 있어요" as well as "하기 적이 있어요"? (not sure if the nominalization is correct there) Is this one of the things i can interpret to be equivalents between these two languages? (I am a native japanese speaker.) Thanks!

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Před rokem

      It can also be used with the past tense conjugation (adjective form) of an action verb, so you can say ~한 적 (not 하기), but this is a bit less common. It's the same form though.

    Hi Billy, what is the difference between 천천하다 and 느리다? Are they synonyms or are they slightly different?

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Před rokem

      There are many differences. Basically if you're referring to the verbs, 천천하다 is almost never used while 느리다 is used often. But if you're referring to just 천천히 and 느리게, both mean "slowly" but only 느리게 can also be used for things that aren't under anyone's control.

      No, it's not only used with negative verbs like that.

    빌리씨. 안녕하세요. 저는 서울 사는 한국 사람 입니다. 구독자 이며, 영어듣기도 하려고 시청 합니다, 조회수가 적어서 안타깝네요. 그러나 공부는 누구나 하고 싶지 않는 것 입니다. 조회수 100만 이상 되게 하는 방법을 하나 알려 드릴께요. 한달에 1-2 곡 정도 케이팝 bts/ 블랙핑크 노래를 통하여 공부 하게 하세요. 노래를 통한 외국어 공부는 생각보다 효과가 좋아요. 저도 영어 공부 노래로 많이 했습니다, 효과도 아주 좋아요. K 드라마도 전세계적으로 생각보다 인기가 많아요. 케이팝 팬들이 전세계 1억명이 넘는다는 뉴스를 봤습니다, 한국어 선생님 이니까 인기 드라마 특정 부분이나 한국 노래로 재미있게 공부 하세요. 다른 사람이 하기 전에 시도 하세요.

    Billy I’m starting to learn Korean (class project) I need your help I have watched videos of yours (“learn Hangul with billy pt1-14”), and it really helped but I couldn’t find other ones, so if you can do video for beginner Korean, and I have some questions. How can I learn Korean in the fastest way? How long does it take to learn a bit/lot of Korean? How hard is it to learn Korean if you know two languages (English & Arabica)? Mind the bad spelling I have been learning English for only 5 years. Thx for your time hope you answer me. (: :)

      That's a separate series called "Learn Korean" but that series isn't in any order - it's simply various topics that I wanted to teach in my own way, and they each come with PDF files. This playlist is in order, so if you're brand new I recommend starting here.

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Před 3 lety

      The "before" only comes from English translations, and is just how we speak in English. There's no need to add any extra word to convey that meaning in Korean, as it's explained in this lesson :)
