Dr. William Birkin (ウィリアム・バーキン Wiriamu Bākin?) was a virologist who worked for Umbrella Pharmaceuticals in the 1970s-1990s. The head of the Golgotha Virus research project, he turned against the Umbrella Corporation after failing to achieve a promotion to its executive. The company's attempts to prevent an unauthorized deal with the U.S. military served as a catalyst for the events of the Raccoon City Destruction Incident. He was the husband of Annette Birkin and father of Sherry Birkin.

So fun fact, williams g forms r based on healing cells that turn into cancer cells. Like a bullet stuck in its body. The body will keep healing that spot while the bullet is still their which creates more and transforms the body. Creating extra fingers, eyes, arms, bones and stuff but by endgame his body gets messed up bc the characters do so much damage that the body can't keep up the healing until he looks like a blob with teeth.
!!!! Must be why the very last G form resembles a Teratoma. The random teeth, eyes, bodily formations and possible hair. It’s like an out of control tumor. Very interesting. God I love this franchise 🤣

Birkin mutating as the game goes on is still incredible to watch in the original game even today. The remake did a good job translating it too but I think I prefer how it was done in the old game.

@Artjom77 7, to me and to most of us, William becoming G was our 1st experience which was a nightmarish for most of us especially if "like my case" were young at the time, and I disagree with you, in my mind there is no worse case than William, even Lisa which was the saddest ever keep "in a way" he form, but changing 5 times to very different form which " if you read a report from Wesker but sorry IDR from where" could still change even more forms had it not died, I mean I new 2nd head out of nowhere while pushing the main to the chest was distrabaing enough for me.
and if you tell me William was not the only guy whom grow a 2nd head, the "4example" guy in re rev-1 had too, then you are right, that "4me" a very near 2nd most scary monster in re history.

I'm saying that people are freaking out over Birkins last form and thinking it's the most disturbing thing in existence, however there have been monsters in the RE franchise who looked even more fucked up. Jack baker and Carla radames are the first two that came to mind.

Always liked the G forms, makes a lot of sense how it adapts to it’s environments, as well as how it deals with adapting, wished they did more with the G virus like in the case of William, sort of like G virus + Tyrant, only case I recall of that happening was the T-091, which even then was deemed a failure
Final boss of that game used the T+G as well.

Theory: at the end when he “dies” his eye turns into a slit so he is still alive because that is a Defence Mechanism,so he doesn’t die when he gets shot with a RPG or hit with a grenade impact it’s gonna take a lot of grenades,acid shells and normal grenade shells
When G was temporary killed in his 5th form he was still alive but he was killed by the Nest Self-Destruction.

Pretty much all the versions of Birkin are pretty great
Personally i didn't like the last 2 mutations of remake, it's well know g-virus gives extra eyes but... Those from remake are a bit too much :/
Birkin G4 looks so much better on dark side chronicles. The rest are great in remake.
Its like if his mutation only make a switch of the limbs and regenerate it better in a fotm to atack more rapidly and deadly
I'm quite torn about G 3. My favorite form definitely, but I just can't quite chose between the realistic and nightmarish take in the remake or the fantastical and demonic look of Chronicles.

3:58 if i remember correctly, the arenas where you fight G3 and G4 for Claire's 1st scenario are switched in the remake (G3 form is fought here while G4 is fought on the train elevator) plus, G5 looks more like a sarlacc pit and the vocals in the music are just creepy

It only serves to make Claire leaving her with Leon that much more saddening, I still want to see how Sherry would react to seeing her again.

Probably just the games creepy way of showing that Birkin is still in that thing mentally. On one hand, he's crying out for his daughter. On the other, the creature is crying out for the only suitable host it can transfer the virus to.

He has 9 forms.
William has 5 forms but they have many versions.

In the original william can be fight in scenario A as G2+G3+G4 meanwhile in scenario B as G1+G3+G5 for both claire and leon.
In the remake leon scenario A fight William G1+G2+G3, in scenario B the same three G's beside G5.
For claire in scenario A fight William G1+G2+G3+G4 i , in scenario B the same four G's beside G5.
You get to fight G5 as Claire in the REmake so you get to use the minigun
I've tried looking but everything is the remake of RE2.. is there any way to get the original 1998 version of RE2 for the playstation 5? Or is that a big no go? I'm assuming I'll have to get it for my PC if anything.

Actually the more William mutates, the more he loses control of his own body he can’t do any thing about it. And when the eyes on the arm back or leg spots a human, William will try to control his legs and is very successful,but as the arm mutates more as seen in the remake he can’t control his body,so even trying to calm it, it would do nothing but get you infected or killed
