ATV 10 Eyewitness News Theme 1981.
TV news theme used in the show, which was the actual channel 10 news music at the time. This originally had the Kay White photo but I found a clip of the news intro - what the women would have seen on the screen. It was quite a cool montage of melbourne, dallas style.
• Video - actually quite a nice instrumental and have been looking for the full version for ages. This was the end of Eyewitness News in Sydney around the same time. Track name (multiple versions vocal and instrumental) is 'Move closer to your world' - Zábava
This is the Australian version of WPVI's news theme, "Move Closer To Your World."

I got that link working. The music in that is a slightly different version of the track 'move closer to your world', of which there are multiple versions, styles and lengths. These were used (still used?) across the USA throughout the 70s and 80s, and ATV news used at least 2 or 3 versions of the track. A lot of the Prisoner tracks were also used for NFL football coverage, again in USA, during the 70s and 80s. Library music LPs were sent to TV stations who they payed to use particular tracks.
there is another version of this music, used at the end of a broadcast by Eyewitness news in Sydney. If you are from UK, think of ITV regions - Melbourne ATV10 produced their own news shows, as did Sydney, Brisbane etc. Check video description as it wont let me post link in this comment.....

I had no idea this was a theme to a real Television Programme. I remember I think it was Sonia Stevens sat watching the T.V in the rec room while this was played on the T.V.
Yes this was used on at least 2 occasions when the women watched Tv in the rec room. One was a scene with Sonia Stevens. This would have cost ATV10 nothing extra to use as it was the actual ATV10 news theme at the time. The real news had a voiceover with the hosts names, PCBH omitted this but still used this exact music.

Actually, ATV-10 Melbourne is a real television station. They filmed PRISONER (cell block H) in Melbourne, in which I know.

The news music originated in Philly and is still used to this day, as well as in Buffalo.
