    The 1984 - 1986 and the 1986 - 1988 versions are my favorite.
    Reason for the 1984 - 1986 one: This is an pretty confusing one, because the logo is filmed and the recording from the studio is not.
    Reason for the 1986 - 1988 one: The animation is awesome.

    Anyone remember the early 80s billboards promoting the 5 o'clock news? They traditionally started at 6pm.
    Channel 10 had Ron Wilson (for Sydney anyway) with the text: "HOUR NEWS IS BETTER".

    • @Spi-AU
      @Spi-AU Před rokem +1

      In the early 80s, it would have been at 6pm - but still an hour long, Seven and Nine started at 6.30 at the time. Or were you thinking of the early 90s? (I guess Ron Wilson would've been in both of them)

    • @speckledjim5150
      @speckledjim5150 Před rokem +1

      @@Spi-AU 1983 was one, there was a smallish billboard at an intersection near footy training. In Sydney anyway, they did nightly news at 6pm and on channel 9, Willesee 30 minutes later.
      Ten got the jump on the rest, and for years the intro music had a brief voiceover "First at five, this is ten news with ". Checked EPG, they're still at it from 5pm.
      Classic is, it seems to have kicked off an escalation in how early the evening news is aired.

      Yes I know , the majority of Australian Private Channels have an American inspiration for their idents , news intros ; before the regional television system was complicated (like the american one) and now it's very easy they put their channel's name and the region For example : Channel 9 Melbourne ....etc .
      And the themes are the same as the American ones .
