  • It was a bad idea for this company to make their old batteries not compatible with the new line they have released. Either way it seems alot of tool suppliers are selling these off and they can be found for a reasonable price. Not many have opened these packs yet so i wasn't sure what to expect! After a little digging, i found 20x 18650 cells in a 10s2p configuration. I have yet to do a discharge test(fingers crossed), so stay tuned for more...

    I found to activate the battery need a 4.7k resistor from positive to one or other pins in the middle, it gently turn on by activating internal MOSFET with a pwm noise heard into my 200watts 120vac incandescent bulb, I use this bulb to see if it turn on. I am still looking for information about the pins 2&3, one is C and other have a ohms symbol on it, maybe C is for common but I will investigate more.

    Got myself the greenworks electric wheelbarow. Tested conecting ryobi 18v in series 39,5v out. Sadly it only works for 4 seconds before turning off. It got 3 connections + - and the one right next to -. I belived it is the com pin. But hearing you say the diffrent voltage it got me intrigued. I am trying to find socumments on the diffrent pin outs to get better answers but i migt need to accept defeat and by a solo greenworks battery

      Yes you may have a weak or dead cell group in the battery. You may need to open it up and check each cell group with a voltage meter. You could replace the bad cells or try to charge them with a single cell charger and bring some life to them

      I think you, and I are on the same mission. From my understanding that the battery is sending information to the controller of the devices for a status update. I am trying to replicate a signal to the controller, but running into the issue of not having a battery to understand what a good signal is suppose to look like. Has anyone else tried to replicate this signal?

      I have a similar project in mind. Could one not just bypass the controller to send DC power to the motor and use a regular on/off switch? I believe this model uses a brushed motor so the motor should run just fine with the 37DC power directly connected, no?

    • @mattihyvonen2568
      @mattihyvonen2568 Před 2 měsíci

      Exactly the same thing with me. I'm trying to get a GDC40 pressure washer to work with a bicycle battery. Works for 5 seconds, then shuts off.
      He did say at the beginning of the video that you can't find 36 volts in + and minus.. I don't believe this. I'll explain it like this. I have disassembled the washer, and there is a thin wire coming from the third pin.
      But if you look at other li-ion (like drilling machines) batteries, there is ~5-8 kilo Ohm resistance against the minus pole.
      Because of this, I have been try to find the right ohm value with the trimmer potentiometer, but I couldn't find it!! I adjusted all values between 0 and 12 kilo Ohms. There are no correct values in between those values. Too bad!
      How did you solve it yourself?

      I have the GW 300W inverter. inside the contacts one of the terminal connections is bridged to the positive terminal. This creates the series connection to make it 36v (or the 40v suggestion by GW)

      I think those are 5 blocks of 4 cells in series, where each of one has 2 battery in series and 2 in parallel. So 4.2*2=8.4v*5 blocks =42v

      @@Cheeseburger4362 the easiest way to tap into the 36v of the pack is to open the hosing and solder the output leads directly to the cell tabs bypassing the bms board, you can leave the bms intact so you can still charge it regularly also. Otherwise you can buy a cheap greenworks power tool and remove the battery mount wiring harness and attach it to that too
