- Don't hate me, but certain destinations are not for everyone. We traveled with our in-laws and their style of travel didn't match what Toledo offers. We also struggled a lot with bringing our 11-month-old who needs a stroller and is loud and energetic. I think this destination is suitable for people who want to explore specific historical landmarks from the old town and are willing to walk and enjoy a view without much entertainment or big culinary experiences.

Don't hate me, but certain destinations are not for everyone. Agree?
Get over yourself go back to America
less than 3 minutes to talk about the most valuable thing about this city: its world heritage, unique in the world. If you are not interested in culture, it is NOT your city. If you go to Toledo and only enter a museum that is actually a STORE and do not enter Mosques, Synagogues, unique Churches of specific medieval societies in Toledo, or one of the richest cathedrals in the world, it is normal that you will only be left with that you have pushed your child's stroller.
There is life in the historic center of Toledo. They live longer than you say, triple that!! And the city festivals and major events are celebrated in the ancient city.
I don't think the video you make is constructive, because you really know little about this city and if you woke up with a changed psychology, Toledo is not to blame.
Thank you so much for sharing your perspective on Toledo! I can see how passionate you are about the city, and I respect that. Thank you for the information you have shared here
Totally disagree with most of your views on Toledo it's absolutely stunningly beautiful. Steeped in history and has loads of great food/restuarants
Im sorry :( I am sharing an opinion based on the experience ew had. But many things influence that experience. Maybe in another circumstance I would have enjoyed it more!
@@dani-moves *Never* bring your in-laws unless they share exactly your views on medieval towns.
Of course.. The thing is that we Spaniards are slow.... and you walked by with the Afterburner activated.... You're still young... And how it will happen with many things, time will make you see farther and maybe... go back to Toledo and you can say you've seen it... And not that you've been there.... Toledo (the city of the three cultures) is a historical giant... Who wants to be there?
You make a good point here! Thanks for your input
I apologize on behalf of the citizens of the United States. We are not all like this.

I just finished a 7-day vacation in Spain. Started in Madrid, visited Toledo and then spent three days in Barcelona. Visited many sites and attractions. My favorite attraction by far was Toledo with Monserrat being my second favorite. First, don't even bother using your psychology degree to analyze people. Way off. Second, how can you not expect that pushing a stroller around such and old historic site that is so original to be such a complicated task?
I am glad you liked Toledo! I think it's a good place to visit except if you have certain circumstances and taste :) Thank you for your input, George, I appreciate you taking the time to comment!
so would you stay in Toledo 1 night, or would you stay in Madrid then just take 1 day to visit back to Madrid? I see train ride is less than 1 hr, thanks in advance!
It sounds like you could have saved hours of disappointment by doing five minutes of research before going to Toledo.
You have a point!! Also maybe without a baby and without forcing a good restaurant experience
I visited Toledo and absolutely loved it. It was an amazing historical city with such beauty and charm. It's a small city so I don't think anyone was planning on going clubbing or top notch entertainment. I visited many cities in Spain and would highly recommend visiting.
This is very true! I appreciate your feedback 🙏
Just got back from Toledo and Madrid. Loved Toledo. Will go again. Was there July 3, 2024. Weather and Temperature was perfect. It's a UNESCO world heritage site. Wonderful.
im glad you had a great time
This video was extremely helpful. I think Toledo is a place that I would like. I’m looking for a very old world feel. I’m into architecture, art, and history. Even though it seems I would enjoy Toledo, I really appreciate hearing your perspective and the list of cons.
Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm really glad you found the video helpful. It's great to hear you appreciate the pros and cons I shared
Thanks for the honest review! I think we'll spend more time in Seville next week instead of leaving early to see Toledo now
Thank you! I think Sevilla is worth the trip 100%! Very fun!
Thanks, I was told a few years ago that I should not go because I was with someone with a wheelchair. I am glad i did not go. Now later this year I will go with friends with good walking shoes who love history and El Greco as a day trip.
It can be nice to visit. I just think there are other things you can do in Spain that are funner :)
I just returned from a two week trip to Europe visiting 7 different countries with a group of 24 people. Toledo was our last stop and one of the groups favorite places we visited! Please check it out for yourself. I love Toledo and have been there 6 times! It is so full of culture, beauty and history! The cathederal is my favorite of any other I've visited throughout Europe. I encourage you to go beyond the Store Museum and get off the tourist route. There is a fun train ride that takes you around the city for some amzing views. We ziplinned across the river next to the San Martin Bridge which had breathtaking views and shopped and ate in restaurants off the tourist path. I think pushing a stroller with a young child would be difficult on the narrow cobble stone streets and pehaps clouded your appreciation for this beautiful and amazing city! Please give Toledo a chance - one of my favorite places!
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. I think you make a fair point and it’s what I tried to emphasize. I think Toledo is just not for everyone. It was so hard to enjoy with a stroller. We will try again when the kids are older!
In my research I was finding Toledo boring I'm really glad I saw this video because it is not for me
Some cities are not for everyone! That’s for sure!
If your psychology courses tell you that - travelers fit for Toledo should be "easy to please", "like everything", "have little travel experience" (like me, who only lived in 8 countries and only travelled extensively in 24 world-wide), "not picky about good food" (there are several excellent restaurants in Toledo proper out of the the 14 or 15 in Toledo's upper town (there is even a McDonald's on Plaza Zocodover), if that's not enough, then take one of the Escalators to (litteraly) downtown, below the old Toledo. Its name is Santa María de Benquerencia. There you'll find another 15 restaurants, plus - especially for American tourists - a Burger King, a Kentucky Fried Chicken, and a McDonald's somewhere - then you can demand your money back.
In short, travellers to Toledo should be inexperienced people like those know-nothings who included Toledo in UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites almost 40 years ago.
I don't hate you, but perhaps you should open up a little and leave your in-laws behind.
Youre THIS mad that Toledo is boring and sucks? lol sheesh
@@nickofjupiter It is spelled *sad*
The title should have been "Avoid bringing small children in strollers to Toledo", which is what it's all about.
@@albertnielsen1154 that was just one aspect form our point or view yes but she explained her position
Hmm when I say picky about food I mean that some people don’t want to go to a Spanish historical old town and have McDonald’s be the gem in the main plaza. I understand we disagree on many things. I’m glad you liked Toledo! And I think many people can. It was just not a super pleasant experience for me because of my situation and certain preferences! There has been some people that have agreed and other ones that have disagreed. And that’s okay 🙏🤍
Sorry but you name your video 'Avoid Toledo'. I'm going to avoid your bad takes!
Sorry you feel that way :(
I spent four weeks vacation in Toledo June/July last year.
*Stay away!*
I don't want my beautiful, favourite medieval town to be more overrun than it already is when I arrive for another four weeks stay in the end of August this year.
Or, at least, If you visit Toledo, don't bring Dani-Karen's hopeless in-laws.
lol 😂 I don’t appreciate being called a Karen. I consider myself quite sweet actually!
As a person from Toledo I kinda feel offended…
Sorry, I think my message got misunderstood
@@dani-movesthe old town is where not too many people live
In other places of Toledo there are better restaurants and places where concerts and parties are held but don’t expect everything to be held in the old town (if you know what I mean)
I appreciate your honesty Dani!
thank you
Perhaps you would be better staying in the shopping malls of America
Or at the beach 🥰😍
Don't go to Toledo if you don't enjoy seeing beautiful, historic old cities full of magnificent things to see, or if you have to push a baby around in a stroller.
Okay. Got it.
:( this is not what I meant
@@dani-moves I watched the video, and that's what comes across to me. Toledo is a beautiful old city full of magnificent things to see, but since you had to push a baby in a stroller, and since you planned your visit very poorly, apparently doing no research at all, therefore, no one else should go there.
This might be the worst and most uncultured american take I've ever had the unpleasant experience to listen to
Oops :( sorry you feel that wsy
Sorry you feel that way :(
You totalky sold me on Toledo. I will check your channel for places you like so I know where not to go.
Hahahahah 🤣
Everyone is intitled to their own opinion. You spoke your truth and did say a bit of the other side as well.
You come off pompous
hhmmm
@@dani-movessorry, that’s according to me and my friend that watched this. I’m sure others will agree with you, though.
You started off with mentioning your education and profession, maybe to establish some kind of credibility?
Then you said people that may like Toledo if they’re simple to please or rarely travel. It came off as you thinking only simple people would enjoy this place.
If your idea of fun is being in a restaurant or bar and people watching until 2am, maybe stick to Madrid.
Others may have fun exploring and learning about history.
SKIPPP - yes, many better cities to visit in Spain
lol 😂
Name three and explain why they are better than Toledo.
@@albertnielsen1154 I can name many ; Toledo is a boring little town lol
@@nickofjupiter I see!
You can, but won't, if you couldn't you would.

@@albertnielsen1154 lol ok
Total bullshit. Toledo is great.

Not for airhead people for sure 🙄🙄🙄
