1973 VW Thing 1600 Oil Filler Gasket Replacement

This video walks you through how to install the gasket under the oil filler in a Type 1 VW. This was performed on my 73 Thing but it's the same process on a Beetle of the same vintage.

Great video. I need to get a new oil filler tin. Mine has small holes rusted through it. And of course a new gasket. I already have the internal pipe wrench and experienced putting it in too far.

15/16 inch wrench fit the 1 inch internal pipe wrench.
