You have no idea how much you've changed my life. My son is a grown man, who suffers from depression and bipolar. He's in recovery right now from using heroin. He was living on the streets, had lost his children, his faith in the world. He was walking down the street when someone stepped out of their house and shot my son with an automatic assault weapon. Long story made short, he's been clean for 300 days!!! The song that he relates to is, "HATE ME " I sent him the songs via messenger, "Fear " "Not Broken Anymore "

Blue October has to be my favorite band of all time. I always end up listening to them. Happy sad I always end up here. Love the music.
😅 the older I get, I've sang between heavy, mellow, jazz, ska, punk etc. But I still come back to these guys when I think what band have i not seen, but would love to.

Which is a shame. I first found this band when the music video first appeared on MTV and like 4 am. I was highly depressed and the song made me feel so much better. Since then this band has become my favorite band, i listen to the songs everyday.

This band is amazing, been listening to them since "Hate Me". 18th Floor Balcony was my wedding song. The music they create is incredible. Their music fits me, I'm not always happy or sad but no matter what's going on in my life, their music is like medicine. I really can't stand concerts, but would love to see them live. I think that they are under rated, but that's what keeps them, special. If you ate lobster every meal (whatever you crave) it would not take long to get tired of it. I like the variety that they have incorporated into their music. There is almost no music that I listen to that I don't end up skipping some of the songs. I don't really skip tracks on their cd's. Someone told me that " When the heart speaks, a heart listens" I believe that is why some musicians appeal to us and some don't. I have been in places or situations similar to them, I believe. They have a way of expressing the emotions, that I understand.

everything from "Answers" thru to "Approaching normal" has at some stage or another had a fitting song for most people at certains moments of their life. These guys have a track for every occasion and they haven't let us down on this one. Good work but come to NZ pleeease.!!

one of the most amazing moments i've ever experienced was when i was seeing them live in austin, and justin seemed sad the whole performance. but a midst the crowd cheering, singing with him, clapping, laughing, i saw him smile. it gives me chills thinking about it.
i have loved their music for a long time now ( years) but i cant get over how smooth and rich the music is ( even without vocals)

Stacy Australia I am in Australia and I only found out about Blue October when I was listening to Taylor Swift and I got a recommendation...The Weatherman. Sometimes I ignore the recommendations but I am glad I listened. I love it and I think their music is awesome. My taste in music is varied. I like Madonna Taylor Swift INXS Coldplay One Republic George Michael The Bee Gees Shania Twain....so I am open to listening anything if the lyrics and melody appeal. Nice to read a comment from someone in Australia. My children had no clue who Blue October are. Greetings from Melbourne.

I know he would "get" me, in this world where so many people are ignorant of mental disorders, internal torment and pain. Everyone should be valued and loved. People who struggle with BPD or addiction especially. Never give up, man. Your fans believe in you. We love you man!

I think it more has to do with the fact that he poured everything he had into his relationship and it was never enough for her. She tore him in a way that will take a long time, if ever, for him to get over. He put absolutely everything 2nd to her. And she was just there to play him, it's the ultimate betrayal. He even had a great new girl in his life, and he dropped her for a chance to have is his family back.
His kind of devotion, most girls would kill for, and she just threw him away.

one band i alwayz miss whent heir in my town. :( i love them so much....
I first heard these guys with Calling You and became a fan with their album Foiled but then I kind of lost track of them. The new single, I Hope You're Happy, just brought me back and I'm discovering songs that I missed in between like this one and Fear which have instantly jumped into my favorites. Finally going to see them live this month.
Emotions brought into the song is what makes it great.
I started lisening to them in 2008 and can't get enough. I'm a drummer and have played all kinds of music from classic country to heavy metal and punk rock. And I have to say it's refreshing to know that you don't only have to play in Texas or be playing country music to have a fiddle in the band. It's a nice touch, and I believe musical genius when it comes to song writing. Style reminds me a bit of classic Pink Floyd when it comes to expressing anger lyrically and emotionally.
This song always makes me think of my mother. Obviously, I don't have romantic feelings for her. But no one can breathe when she's around. No one knows who they are supposed to be or what they are supposed to do to make her happy.

Never heard of the band before except for “hate me”. My brother went to school just south of Austin, tx , back in the late 90s early 2000s and always told me to listen to them. He’s always been a music buff, me not so much. Thank god I listened to him and searched their music out. Til this day, I always find myself back to listening to this band. One of the best all time!!!!!
Wow, I can really relate to this song. Well all of their songs have touched me in many ways. I too have major depression since I was 14, now 55 and still trying to get this disorder. I have always been very different felt like I don't fit in. No one understands, unless they have this disorder, they just think your weird. Justin you are Awesome for speaking about it to stop the Stigma and saying it in your music. I'm in this video for half a second! I still remember this concert so clearly. It was my first Blue show. I somehow got up front. Justin slapped my hand as soon as he walked out and then the whole band signed my Crazy Making book after the show. North Myrtle Beach, 2009. A lifetime ago.
